JOB SUMMARY 
 
The Software Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading TriNet's applications and technology environment. The position will orchestrate work on highly scalable web applications used by thousands of customers on TriNet's private and public cloud. Manager will be leading engineering team that include Developers, Automation engineers, and Solution Architects. 

 In this role, you will regularly interact with Senior Leadership across the company and drive technology and application vision along with roadmap for services owned, ensuring alignment with standard methodologies as well as striving for continuous improvements in operational and engineering excellence. This is a hands-on Technical Manager role, providing a great opportunity to deliver an innovative user experience using the latest technologies for TriNet's Human Resource, Payroll and Benefits platform. 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities   

• Lead an incredible team of talented and motivated engineers with high expectations around individual ownership and impact 

• Coach and mentor team members for their career growth 

• Lead multiple projects based on the product roadmap and participates as a servant leader to the engineering teams 

• Foster a healthy and collaborative culture that embodies TriNet's core values. 

• Ensure your team delivers extraordinary output,and continuously seeks ways to make highly impactful improvements to the business. 

• Set direction for the team, anticipate strategic challenges via long-term planning. 

• Resolves barriers to effective cross functional teamwork quickly and effectively 

• Collaborate with product managers, and other business stakeholders to deliver product capabilities on-time, on-scope and on-quality 

Required for All Job 

• Performs other duties as assigned 

Education Details Required/Preferred   

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering, Electrical /Electronic Engineering or related field or equivalent experience 

Work Experience Details Required 

• Typically 8+ years hands-on experience of web application development with Python or JavaScript, and database technologies 

• Typically 2+ years leadership experience 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

• Hands-on experience leading an engineering team(s) responsible for highly scalable applications 

• Experience with capacity planning - drive an understanding of capacity needs based on our business drivers 

• Technical ability to understand the software development lifecycle 

• Strong presentation skills and executive presence 

• Experience with quantitative analysis and problem-solving skills 

• Experience developing and managing applications on public cloud technologies like AWS 

• Demonstrated experience as an excellent problem solver with deep hands-on technical expertise leading highly scalable applications
