The Role

Are you an energetic and results-driven technical leader seeking an opportunity to lead application development for a market leading consumer website? The Thomson Reuters FindLaw Technology team in Eagan, MN is seeking a highly motivated Delivery Manager with strong technical acumen to lead a rockstar team of technical engineers (developers and testers) responsible for our Ad Network and Profile Update applications.

Our team works in a cutting-edge and fast-paced environment developing highly scalable, strong performing, consumer-facing digital marketing solutions for legal professionals. We seek a results-driven, team-oriented, and collaborative technical leader who combines exceptional software credentials with a high degree of business acumen to lead the development efforts for our market leading web-based applications.

About the Role

In this opportunity as Manager, Software Development, you will:

  • Lead a team of technical engineers (developers and testers) responsible for SuperLawywers.com, LawInfo.com and Abogado.com full-stack web development.
  • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to define, prioritize, and schedule your team's work.
  • Ensure code quality, security, leveragability, scalability, SEO, performance, maintainability, and product integration quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and architects to understand business requirements and ensure your team meets them in a timely manner.
  • Identify strategic/tactical solutions and provide risk assessments and recommendations to business and technology leadership.
  • Provide work breakdown and estimates for complex software development tasks.
  • Manage, plan, and report financials for an established budget
  • Recruit and hire new talent
  • Ensure adherence to Product Engineering principles and provide analytics gathering/reporting.
  • Evaluate and provide regular feedback on your team members' performance.

This role will include working with the following tools and technologies:

  • PHP, Wordpress, JavaScript / Node (Native - no frameworks), SEO and site speed, AWS , GitHub, Selenium, Office 365, Java and Python

About You

You are a fit for the position if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required. Computer science degree preferred
  • At least 5 years of related experience Experience with ad delivery concepts, direct experience with Google Ads, DoubleClick, Facebook Ads, Taboola preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with Agile software development practices.
  • Understand the impact of technical decisions at a team and department level.
  • Strong technical aptitude and experience with software development tools and techniques used by the team.
  • Demonstrated inclusive, technology leadership experience.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into development stories and tasks with estimates in Agile development.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to get work done through others.
  • Must be customer-focused, motivated; a self-starter, results oriented individual with a successful track record.
  • Ability to research new and emerging technologies.
  • Effective time management, ability to plan and prioritize work effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and build solid relationships with team members, including those working in remote locations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to present ideas and document artifacts to business, technology, and executive audiences.
