As a Manager – Sales, you will be accountable for building, leading and scaling Wesco Anixter’s Multi-Tenant Data Center business in India. The role is responsible for defining and executing the India Data Center Go-To-Market strategy across Grey Space and White Space opportunities, while leading the sales team and personally managing selected strategic accounts. The role requires a senior commercial leader who can engage at the executive level with customers, vendors and ecosystem partners, while also coaching the Strategic Account Managers to deliver consistent execution across named accounts and strategic opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Develops and administers sales plans to ensure customer satisfaction, assigned quota attainment, good reference accounts, and highly skilled and motivated staff.
- Determines annual sales and gross profit plan by implementing marketing strategies and analyzing trends and results.
- Establishes sales objectives by forecasting and developing sales quota for territories.
- Define and execute the India Data Center Go-To-Market strategy across new builds and White Space opportunities.
- Develop the national business plan for the Multi-Tenant Data Center segment, including priority customers, target accounts, solution focus areas, vendor alignment and growth initiatives.
- Identify and shape growth opportunities across data centre operators, hyperscale's, colocation providers and the broader project ecosystem.
- Track market activity, customer investment plans, project pipelines, competitive developments and technology shifts within the India Data Center sector.
- Support the account managers in unlocking senior-level access, improving customer mindshare and influencing decision-making across the customer organisation.
- Own team revenue, gross profit, margin performance, pipeline growth and forecast accuracy for the India MTDC business.
- Lead pipeline governance, opportunity qualification, deal strategy, pricing discipline and commercial risk reviews.
- Ensure strong account planning, accurate forecasting and disciplined CRM / reporting hygiene across the sales team.
- Provide strategic direction across Power Distribution & Electrical Infrastructure, Network Infrastructure, Cooling Infrastructure Support, Supply Chain Solutions and Deployment Services.
- Build executive-level relationships and influence with Data Centre Operators, Hyperscalers, EPCs, Consultants, System Integrators, Contractors, Colocation Providers and Strategic Vendor Partners.
- Create alignment and mindshare across the wider data center ecosystem to strengthen Wesco positioning during early project planning and deal-shaping stages.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree - Sales, Engineering, or relevant field preferred
- Minimum 10-12 years of sales, holds team handling experience of minimum 5 years,business development, strategic account management or commercial leadership experience.
- Direct Data Center industry experience is mandatory.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience selling into Data Center customers is mandatory.
- Previous people-management experience is mandatory, including coaching, performance management and team development responsibilities.
- Proven track record of leading profitable growth, managing senior customer relationships and delivering commercial outcomes across strategic accounts.
- Strong understanding of India Data Center market dynamics, customer ecosystem, procurement behaviour, project lifecycle and infrastructure decision-making process.
- Demonstrated ability to engage senior executives while also influencing engineering, operations, procurement, project and site-level stakeholders.
- Experience working with vendors, consultants, EPCs, system integrators, contractors and colocation providers in complex opportunity environments.
- Ability to travel up to 25%
