The Manager, Program Management – LifeCycle Management (m/f/d) manages the team, leads complex, cross‑functional lifecycle programs spanning software, hardware, systems, and workflows, with a strong focus on product sustainment and continuous improvement. It provides strategic program leadership, ensuring clear planning, resource alignment, risk management, and executive‑level communication.
This position reports to the Director Program and Product Management – Continuous Improvement and is part of the Portfolio Organization located in Munich, Germany and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Lead, mentor, and develop the Program Management team, building capability across Program Managers and cross‑functional contributors.
Lead complex, cross‑functional lifecycle programs across software, hardware, workflow, and systems, balancing product sustainment with continuous delivery to ensure reliability, competitiveness, and customer value.
Ensure strong program and portfolio governance, including clear planning, resource alignment, milestone tracking, risk management, and executive‑level status reporting.
Drive consistent application of program management standard work, leveraging Danaher Business System (DBS) tools such as Visual Project Management (VPM) and Daily Management (DM).
Own and continuously improve the lifecycle management framework for the WITS Business Unit, including processes, templates, and standard work, ensuring harmonization across product lines.
Act as a central cross‑functional integrator, aligning Product Management, R&D, Operations, Service, and Quality/Regulatory, and facilitating effective decision‑making forums.
Ensure lifecycle programs deliver measurable business value, maintaining transparency across the portfolio and aligning prioritization with overall business strategy.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
7+ years of experience in program/project management in matrixed environments involving both hardware and software.
Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams (direct or matrix).
Strong background in product lifecycle management, change management, or product sustainment.
Experience executing complex programs in regulated industries (IVD, MedTech, life sciences, or similar).
Proficiency with Visual Project Management (VPM) and Daily Management (DM)
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and executive‑level presentation skills.
Fluency in English; German is a plus
