Overview
As consumer preference for digital payments continues to grow, ensuring a seamless and secure consumer experience is top of mind. The Optimization team is responsible for optimizing and monetizing the value of Mastercard's Consumer Solutions through a data-driven approach & product and network thinking.
The Optimization Solutions team, part of the Optimization organization, focuses on improving digital authorization performance globally through optimizing existing & building new Mastercard solutions.
As a Manager in the Optimization Solutions team, you will be responsible for leading authorization performance optimization for top digital merchants around the world. It includes tracking performance, delivering data-driven insights and recommendations, engaging directly with key merchant stakeholders on implementing optimization solutions, and partnering across the organization to drive alignment and ensure action is taken. You will also support the development of new solutions to address gaps, working closely with global product teams and regional leads. An ideal candidate should be passionate about learning new products and solutions, have a strong understanding of the payments landscape, leverage data to recommend actions and drive to a decision, have strong storytelling skills, and comfortably engage with senior management.
Key Responsibilities• Perform analysis on global digital authorization data, synthesize the results, identify key performance drivers, and develop recommendations• Leverage data-driven approach to create actionable insights based on in-depth understanding of Mastercard products and solutions as well as impact of operational changes• Present data to Mastercard's customers (E-Commerce Merchants and Banks) in a more digestible format by highlighting big impact opportunities and collaborating with them on the implementation of the recommendations that were agreed upon• Partners with a diverse set of stakeholders across the organization to solicit ideas, influence strategy and generate buy-in to proposed actions, while maintaining an objective position• Monitor progress on all engagements and partner with Account Management, Product and Customer Delivery teams to ensure timely and accurate implementation• Monitor top digital merchant and issuer approval rate performance in detail and provide regular reports, create best practices, and serve as an adviser to regional teams in their optimization efforts
All about You• Business experience with a proven track record in product management, product development, or consulting, leading initiatives from strategic planning, financial/business case modeling through tactical execution • Strong knowledge of digital commerce strategies, best practices, and trends related to authorization, authentication, transaction routing, fraud, and chargebacks• Ability to perform data analysis to derive insights out of data, draw out correlations, and develop a storyline for internal and external presentations• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to efficiently manage multiple projects with external and internal clients • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; Preferred but not required knowledge of SQL• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills • Drives a data-driven, agile culture as a role model and influencer within the Optimization Solutions team• Ability to guide difficult conversations to productive outcomes• Ability to engage and advance multiple projects at the same time • Entrepreneurial spirit and a global mindset with a passion for learning and using data to solve a large-scale business problem

Skills Required

  • Business experience with a proven track record in product management, product development, or consulting
  • Experience leading initiatives from strategic planning and financial or business case modeling through tactical execution
  • Strong knowledge of digital commerce strategies, authorization, authentication, transaction routing, fraud, and chargebacks
  • Ability to perform data analysis, identify correlations, derive insights, and develop presentation storylines
