Summary of the role:

The Manager of Tax Compliance is a key member of the North America tax team, reporting to the North America Director of Tax. This role involves mentoring and leading a team of 2+ staff members, managing their performance, and collaborating on both internal and outsourced income tax compliance projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mentor and lead a team of 2+ staff members, managing their performance and development.
  • Collaborate on internal and outsourced income tax compliance projects.
  • Lead the outsourced compliance process and assist the Director in preparing tax provisions and account reconciliations.
  • Play a key role in companywide projects, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
  • Manage tax compliance responsibilities for operations in the US, Canada, Latin America, Central America, and the Caribbean.
  • Communicate with various departments to ensure compliance with state apportionment, fixed assets, R&D tax credit, Sec. 174 regulation, foreign tax credit, GILTI/FDII, BEAT, transfer pricing documentation, and other tax matters.
  • Guide and work with direct reports to maintain interoffice mail via internal logs and manage the disbursement and timely resolution of tax matters with tax authorities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting/taxation or equivalent experience.
  • Proven accounting skills and strong tax technical background.
  • Managerial experience with a hands-on approach and enthusiasm to promote a team atmosphere.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities effectively.
  • Experience in tax compliance for operations in the US, Canada, Latin America, Central America, and the Caribbean.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with various departments and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Fluency in spoken and written business English is required.
  • Minimum of 15+ years of corporate in-house tax and/or public accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with SAP S4Hana.
  • Experience with Canadian, Central America and Caribbean, LATAM taxes.
  • Strategic mindset and strong analytical and problem resolution skills.
  • Minimum of 10 years management experience leading a team of at least one direct report.
  • Knowledge of IFRS Standards.
  • Ability to calculate income tax provision manually in Excel, including current and deferred provision, deferred roll forward, tax payable reconciliation, journal entries, and footnotes.
  • In-depth knowledge of Federal/State and International Income Tax regulations.
  • Self-starter with a hands-on approach to problem solving.
  • Heavy knowledge of IAS 12 (accounting for income taxes).
  • Ability to communicate issues in a clear and effective manner.
  • Team player that cultivates collaboration and leadership throughout the global organization.
  • Ability to travel as needed – 10%.
  • International Tax experience required.

Location: The position is located in Miami but can be located elsewhere in the United States.
