About the Job:

As an Associate - Know Your Client ("KYC") Analyst, you will be responsible for participating in Anti-Money Laundering (“AML”) monitoring, governance, oversight, and regulatory reporting activities in coordination with compliance and internal control teams. The role of the KYC Operations Analyst is to ensure that the firm and its employees conduct business in accordance with federal and state laws and rules and regulations, including the rules and regulations of the Securities and Exchange Commission, The Federal Reserve Bank, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, FINRA, and other governmental agencies, self-regulatory organizations and internal policies and industry best practices.

What You’ll Get to Do:

  • Partner with Relationship Management and Compliance teams to assist with the preparation, development, due diligence, and approval of the electronic Know Your Client (“KYC”) record and supporting appendices.
  • Reviewing new and existing customer accounts and verifying their identities, including beneficial ownership review and development of a customer risk profile.
  • Assessing and documenting the risks associated with customers and/or products for use in ongoing alert clearing and investigations processes
  • Conducting due diligence and KYC research for clients as part of the anti-money laundering (AML) compliance process, including developing CDD/EDD profiles.
  • Executing and reviewing negative media alerts, Politically-Exposed Persons (PEP) and Sanctions alerts from client screening and escalating where necessary
  • Preparing suspicious activity reports (SARs), where necessary.
  • Identify key risks in the current client lifecycle management process and recommend strategies to for future state design to mitigate AML risks while operationalizing efficiency levers and reduce account opening lead times.

What You’ll Bring with You:

  • 1+ year relevant KYC/AML experience
  • Excellent written, communication, and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of the BSA and USA PATRIOT Act requirements for Financial Institutions, and experience with institutional and retail customer onboarding /entity types
  • Ability to interact and work closely with business stakeholders at all levels of seniority
  • Effective analytical thinking and critical reasoning skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as work independently
  • Experience working for large national or multi-national banks highly desired
  • Knowledge of banking products and different types of transactions and client-facing procedure
  • Ability to effectively handle a fast-paced environment and successfully meet established deadline requirements
  • Understanding of the interdependencies of roles within KYC process and requirements for KYC Record successful completion across relevant client types
  • Experience with regulatory compliance, AML transaction/risk monitoring tools, and solving AML related issues
  • ACAMS certification is a plus
  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree highly desired
