Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Manager General Manufacturing 1 - Front-Line Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Paint & Coatings IPT organization. This leadership role is located at Palmdale, CA.
The selected candidate will have the responsibility, authority, and accountability for leading Low Observable coatings applications of a given cost center within restricted programs, including quality, cost and schedule objectives and factory accountability, which will include the following responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for daily assignments and providing guidance for operations related to aerospace paint, masking, and surface preparation requirements. This includes but not limited to performance-based gap filler, aero-fairing, scrim/applique, fastener filler, thin film, coatings, primer, and topcoat materials.
- Must be able to provide clear and concise direction and coaching to technicians and other production personnel in the assembly and manufacturing areas to remove constraints as required.
- Ensures team members receive the required training and prepares the daily work plans in support of overall program objectives.
- Encourages and provides direction for career development of employees, including educational options for highly motivated employees.
- Provides leadership/direction to ensure all affordability initiatives and opportunities for process improvements are systematically identified, pursued, and supported.

Basic Qualifications:
- Must have a high school diploma/GED AND 5 years of related professional/military experience in aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing, maintenance and/or related environment.
- Must have 1 year of prior management and or lead experience.
- Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance (US Citizenship required) as well as the ability to obtain and maintain Program Special Access
- Must be willing to work any of the following schedules: Monday – Thursday 4/10 Shift - 1st shift (5:00 am - 3:30 pm) or 2nd shift (3:00 pm - 1:30 am) OR Friday – Sunday 3/10 Shift - 1st shift (5:00 am - 3:30 pm) or 2nd shift (3:00 pm - 1:30 am)
- Must be willing to work extended shifts, holidays, and weekends if needed to support program schedule milestones.
- Must be willing to travel
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 3 Years experience in Aerospace Coatings applications.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
- Experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Skills Required
