Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Manager General Manufacturing 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our GSE organization. This leadership role is located in Palmdale, CA.
The Manager General Manufacturing 1will have the responsibility, authority, and accountability for leading the manufacturing activities within our Ground Support Equipment organization, which will include the following responsibilities:
Responsibilities include:
- Lead a team of non-exempt employees, who are responsible for the maintenance /repair of Ground Support Equipment, Tooling and Special Test Equipment (STE).
- Leads the GSE/Tooling team in executing best practices following PrOP documents, T.O’s and owner manuals.
- Providing direction and mentorship to the Ground Support Equipment (GSE) mechanics, machine shop and tooling personnel in the GSE/ Tooling area.
- Ensures team members receive the required training and prepares the daily work orders in support of overall maintenance of equipment.
- Encourages and provides direction for career development of employees, including educational options for highly motivated employees.
- Provides leadership/direction to ensure all affordability initiatives and opportunities for process improvements are systematically identified, pursued, and supported.
- Ensure proper planning of work scheduled for the machine shop, setting priorities.

Basic Qualifications:
- Must have a High School Diploma / G.E.D. and 5 years of related professional/military experience in general manufacturing and/or tooling
- Must have an Active DoD Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access
- Must have 1 year of prior management/leadership experience.
- Ability to work 1st or 2nd Shift.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree and a minimum of 5 years of Aircraft Manufacturing experience
- Previous Leadership, Supervisory or Management experience
Skills Required
