C.H. Robinson is looking for a Gateway Manager - Air to lead our import and export gateway operations, driving service excellence, operational performance, and financial results.
In this role, you will lead and develop a high-performing team, foster a culture of growth and accountability, and collaborate across our global network to deliver customer-focused air freight solutions.
You will play a key role in customer retention and growth, carrier and warehouse partner management, pricing strategy, and the continuous improvement of gateway operations to ensure exceptional service delivery and business success.

Responsibilities:The duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following:
Leadership:
Promote a culture and working environment that embraces growth and development to meet the needs of our employees and customers, resulting in higher employee engagement and overall customer satisfaction
Instill professionalism, ensure adherence to policy and procedures, and encourage consistency of process
Identify development opportunities, provide constructive feedback, offer continuous training opportunities for direct line reports
Play major role in recruitment, onboarding, and continuous development of talent
Provide individualized coaching plans for direct reports and host semi-annual Talent (performance) reviews
Communication:
Regularly share industry news, department changes, and process updates to department
Provide guidance to employees on how to respond to complex consolidation scenarios
Collaborate with all relevant regional leadership and air/ocean service line management to ensure efforts are in alignment with company and regional initiatives
Proactive collaboration with the C.H. Robinson overseas gateway network on core lane carrier selection and performance evaluation
Strategy:
Collaborate closely with the pricing teams to ensure volume growth and optimize profitability
Collaborate with branch leaders to deliver effective problem resolution and process improvement
Set quantitative, qualitative, and personalized objectives for Department supervisors
Design, control, and maintain the process for successful service delivery
Support branches in the region through onsite visits working to enhance awareness and understanding of our capabilities as it relates to gateway services development
Work with the gateway leadership team to “activate the network” and promote gateway services
Customer Service:
Serve as a role model in developing relationships with carriers, origin counterparts, and destination partners critical to the success of our clients’ transportation and supply chain systems
Troubleshoot and design solutions for complex scenarios
Accountable to ensure the gateway team supports business development within our global branch network
Operations:
Maintain an up-to-date database, inclusive of core lanes, service level pricing and carrier schedules
Mitigate operating expenses by actively managing resources against activity forecasts
Ensure carrier strategies are aligned with the Gateway operation including lane-based development
Support route development, local and regional sales staff in tailoring optimal customer solutions throughout the region
Create and manage reporting functions which can track, measure and analyze performance and efficiency relative to our gateway product and services
Utilize operational and financial tools to monitor daily tasks, set priorities, and measure performance
Quickly and effectively resolve issues with airlines, steamship lines, ports/CFS, outside forwarders/brokers
Manage and revise best practice and SOP materials
Confirm that the supervisors and operations staff have the tools, time, and support they need to successfully service the consolidations
Other duties or responsibilities as assigned according to the team and/or country specific requirements
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Minimum 5 years of Global Forwarding Airfreight or Gateway experience
Minimum 3 years of direct people management experience
Proven flexibility & adaptability to product and customer needs
Time management and organizational skills
Excellent written & verbal communication skills
Ability to work flexible hours as needed
High sense of urgency with the ability to work with ambiguity
