About the role.
The Director Pan-Europe Indirect Procurement is responsible for leading the sourcing strategy and procurement activities across Continental Europe and Great Britain, managing approximately €200M in indirect spend. This role drives cost optimization, supplier relationship management, risk mitigation, and sustainable value creation across key categories including Energy, Marketing, HR Services, Facilities, Business Services, and IT & Telecom.
The successful candidate will be a highly effective business partner who can influence senior stakeholders, align procurement strategies with business objectives, and provide expert guidance on market dynamics. Given the significance of energy spend within the portfolio, a strong understanding of energy markets, risk management, and procurement strategies is essential. The role requires a leader who thinks strategically, plans for the long term, and develops high-performing teams that deliver exceptional results.
What you'll be doing.
- Lead sourcing strategies across approximately €200M of indirect spend categories throughout Continental Europe and Great Britain.
- Develop and execute cost-focused procurement strategies that deliver sustainable savings and long-term value.
- Drive energy commodity risk management and optimization programs through strong knowledge of energy market dynamics and trends.
- Act as a trusted business partner to senior leaders, translating business needs into procurement strategies that create competitive advantage.
- Build and manage strategic supplier relationships to maximize value, innovation, and performance.
- Lead supplier performance monitoring and recommend business allocation decisions.
- Collaborate with global category leaders and regional procurement peers to implement best practices and achieve business objectives.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, ethics standards, and internal control requirements.
- Develop and coach talent, creating an environment where individuals and teams can perform at their best.
- Provide market intelligence and strategic procurement leadership to support organizational growth and competitiveness.
What you'll need to be successful.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum 8-10 years of procurement experience, preferably within indirect spend categories.
- Significant experience managing complex procurement portfolios and stakeholder relationships.
- Strong understanding of energy markets, energy procurement strategies, and commodity risk management.
- Proven ability to operate as a strategic business partner with senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
- Strong sourcing strategy development and execution experience.
- Proven supplier relationship management, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Experience leading complex initiatives in a matrixed, multinational environment.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities with the ability to balance short-term priorities and long-term objectives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated success in developing talent, building high-performing teams, and fostering collaboration across diverse geographies and cultures.
About the team.
The role reports into the Pan-European Procurement and Global Sustainability organization and operates as part of a global procurement function led by the Chief Procurement Officer. The successful candidate will collaborate with procurement leaders across North America, Latin America, Australia/New Zealand, South Africa, India, and China, while partnering with a broader procurement organization of more than 140 team members globally.
