Purpose of your role

The role will be responsible for supporting the CFO Data Quality Work stream which aims at ensuring that data quality issues are prioritised, resolved, and future proof process is set in place to avoid occurrence of such issues. The role requires collaborating with technology, systems, and data support, working closely with technology teams, business finance teams and regional business teams across geographies. The role is a combination of Business Data Analyst & Project Manager bridging knowledge, understanding and communication gap between Business, Finance & Technology. The role involves collaborating with cross domain - cross functional - cross technology teams across geographies.

Key Responsibilities

CFO Data Programme

• Define and assist Data Stewards and/or SME's define the business requirements for CFO Data Quality rules and assist in QA testing of CFO Data Quality rules
• Review business requirements of Data Quality Rules, clarify with stakeholders in case of any ambiguity
• Understanding existing DQ and controls framework that exists across other applications like OAS and assessing the gaps (avoiding duplication of effort)
• Perform data profiling using SQL to validate data in accordance with business rules. Any exceptions shall be reported and clarified with business.
• Perform a sanity testing in Apex UAT Dashboard and highlight if any changes are required before UAT testing commences”
• Upload testcases to JIRA and facilitate timely completion of UAT testing with Users addressing queries or issues of Users where possible
• Analyse, query and transition data according to defined business rules and procedures
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify the Critical Data Elements (CDEs). Document the business and technical metadata related to the CDEs and upload them on Collibra
• Work with CFO Data Governance and data role holders to plan and prioritise the sequencing of work - both in terms of CDEs and DQ - and agree timelines and milestones. Attend CFO Data Scrum, Monthly Data calls

CFO Data Management

• Collaborate with project teams, data governance, technology, business and finance teams to prioritize, analyze and resolve data quality problems.
• Collaborate with multiple stakeholders and facilitate resolution of CFO Data issues
• Evaluate large Finance datasets for issues, quality, and accuracy
• Determine and articulate business impact of issues
• Research and document the scope & complexity of issue to identify next steps
• Identify the root cause for data issues and ideate strategic solutions
• Streamline processes to improve overall data quality
• Develop and execute data clean-up measures
• Ensure adherence to data quality standards
• Identify areas of improvement to achieve data quality
• Review the open issues from the Data Hub platform. Connect and collaborate with the issue raiser, business assigned, Data Governance team and other key stakeholders to analyse the issues, help in recommending and implementing the right solution
• Support data role holders to fulfill their roles and responsibilities -including attending CFO Data Stewards and Owners Forums, as well as other Data Oversight forums

DataLake Support

• Work closely with tech teams to align on milestones and delivery plan for FDW datasets.
• Agree delivery plan and approach with tech teams.
• Ensure governance in areas where finance operational process is required to be run in parallel –on prim & datalake 
• Support rationalization of data sets to be migrated to datalake.
• Engage with Data Programme & Central Data Governance 
• Ensure alignment with datalake journey of dependent upstream systems.
• Coordinate with process SMEs for CDEs.
• Support Regression/UAT testing.
• Provide regular updates to CFO accountable executive.

Experience and Qualifications Required

• Graduate or Post Graduate degree from a recognized university, preferably in engineering or statistical sciences. 
• 7-8 years of relevant work experience in financial services/asset management industry preferably in finance domain

Essential Skill 
• Sound analytical skills with an eye for details and an appetite to dive into issues in depth as needed.
• Understanding of databases, data flows and data architecture. 
• Strong analytical and time management skills. 
• Facilitation skills with the ability to drive issues to closure. 
• High numeracy and able to co-relate data/ information 
• Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office software packages; Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Power Point with ability to write macros in VBA script.
• Knowledge of OBIEE, Tableau, Power BI or similar BI tool
• Experience with writing SQL queries would be an advantage.
• Ability to work with large and complex data sets
