Purpose
The Manager, Content Marketing is responsible for developing content strategies that align with Floor & Decor initiatives, brands, and product goals. This person will play a key role in building brand recognition and driving revenue for Floor & Decor’s products and services. They will work closely with other members of the marketing team, including CRM, Brand, and Paid Media, to develop and distribute the right content to prospects and customers at various points in their journey. The Manager, Content Marketing has not only a keen eye for detail and is highly creative but also has strong analytical skill. A skilled Manager, Content Marketing should be an expert storyteller and possess advanced-level knowledge of consumer content consumption trends. They will champion a strategic, unified customer experience across all marketing channels.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Advertising, Communications, or Journalism
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably with at least 2 within the retail environment
- Proven experience leading marketing campaigns and content development targeted at both B2B and B2C consumers
- Strong familiarity with content across video channels, email, website, social media, digital media channels, and in-store experience
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data and use insights to create or optimize content strategy and tactics.
- Excellent strategic planning, writing, editing, presentation, and communication skills
- Driven, social, and confident in interacting with all levels of the organization, as well as cross functionally
- Strong creative drive toward solving business objectives
- An eye for relevant content topics in relation to brand awareness, prospecting, and conversion
- Ability to anticipate and identify new marketing opportunities
- Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects concurrently
- Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong grammar and proofreading skills
Essential Functions
- Devise advanced-level content strategies that align with initiative, brand, and product goals. These strategies are then turned into creative marketing specific to the audience, channel, and purchasing position, ultimately driving sales of our products.
- Gather and analyze channel analytics, leveraging insights to recommend and optimize content strategies for improved engagement and performance.
- Develop and pitch content stories in support of the annual marketing calendar. These stories will be used across marketing channels including but not limited to website, paid media, social media, email, video, blog, field marketing assets, and in-store signage.
- Work with cross-functional partners to bring content strategies to life and ensure a consistent omnichannel experience for our customers. Keep partners up to date on marketing initiatives and content stories, ensuring content adaptation for specific channels.
- Bring content ideas to life via collaboration with copywriters, graphic designers, photographers, videographers, and web developers.
- Ensure the final product aligns with content strategy or make recommendations on how to shift content strategy based on subject matter expertise and best practices.
- Drive consistent content stories between our customer’s in-store and online experience.
- Review and make content tests recommendations for digital channels including website and email.
- Maintain a continuous improvement and evolution mindset, revising content whenever deemed necessary by self or via leader recommendation.
- Recommend content repurposing strategies to ensure we are making our content work harder for us and meet the needs of our customers.
- Recommend content audit strategies for the flooranddecor.com website and digital channels to ensure content is relevant and up to date.
- Make recommendations on how to better produce content by keeping up with industry best practices and monitoring competitor content.
- Conduct in store walk-throughs and associate trainings as needed.
- Ensure quality, clarity, and consistency of content.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate.
Physical/Sensory Requirements
Sedentary Work – Ability to exert 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
