We are seeking a motivated Manager, Consulting, to support our growing Energy & Mobility consulting department. The primary function of this role is to lead and grow a team of sustainability professionals within the Energy & Mobility department. You will also conduct and manage consulting projects on a variety of challenging assignments related to environmental Life Cycle Assessment modelling and reporting.
What you will do:
You will guide and professionally develop your direct reports on LCA related topics and manage a team of 3-5 sustainability consultants.
Further, you will help our clients create more sustainable products and operate more sustainably! Focus of your consulting work will be to assist clients with product and corporate sustainability measurement and reporting. This may take the form of Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) using our LCA FE software (formerly GaBi), preparing Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) based results, and assisting with other sustainability-oriented projects. Activities will also involve direct project management interaction with clients.
Your day-to-day activities may include:
- Manage and develop a team of LCA/ Sustainability professionals within the Energy & Mobility department.
- Coach team members, provide regular feedback and act as mentor. Be a thoughtful leader.
- Manage and deliver multiple consulting projects, addressing LCA, feasibility studies, Total Cost of Ownership evaluations, as well as product sustainability, and/or corporate sustainability strategy. Delegate project tasks.
- Ensure all projects within your team adhere to scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
- Ensure a collaborative atmosphere in your team and across teams.
- Organize the onboarding process of new colleagues and ensure that the onboarding process is followed and executed properly.
- Work closely with the director of the “Energy & Mobility” department. Be in regular exchange with other Consulting Manager within the department, and other departments/ BUs and regions, to ensure increasing collaboration and efficiency.
- Drive new sales opportunities with existing and/or new clients.
- Do business development and draft proposals.
- Develop and maintain solid, lasting relationships with existing clients.
- Travel will be required as necessary on a project-by-project basis (up to 10% of time).
Your profile:
- A positive “can-do” attitude.
- Master’s or tertiary degree in engineering, science, or related fields.
- 7+ years of experience in product sustainability and LCA
- Having made first experience managing people.
- Strong organizational skills, experience in coaching people and, ideally, exposure to managing multicultural teams.
- Solid background and passion for sustainability, environmental systems, life cycle thinking, product sustainability, and/or climate change.
- Good oral and written communication skills; ability to articulate issues, give presentations, and prepare formal written reports.
- Knowledge and experience working in/for the Energy & Mobility sectors.
- Self-motivated and organized; able to simultaneously work on multiple assignments and to work both independently as well as on teams.
- Proficiency with MS Office, particularly Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
- Desire to help companies succeed in an environmentally sustainable manner.
