Overview
We are seeking a dynamic, forward thinking, and results-oriented Account Manager to lead and grow our Debit program with one of our largest and most strategic North American Issuers. This individual will work closely with our issuing partner and internal Mastercard teams focused on operational excellence, technical implementation, problem solving, and strategy. This role will serve as the primary operational and execution lead, translating strategy into action, coordinating cross-functional workstreams, and ensuring Mastercard consistently delivers at the highest level. This is a highly visible role requiring comfort operating in ambiguity, managing senior stakeholders, and driving execution across a fast-moving, high-expectation environment.
Purpose• This role will specifically focus on our debit portfolio, optimizing our operational efficiency, technical delivery, and growth opportunities.• This role is a customer-facing position which requires exceptional relationship and project management skills. The ability to quickly quantify and effectively prioritize opportunities, develop concepts and deliver solutions is critical.• Grow and retain share, optimize the existing program and expand our product offering to drive revenue and value creation for Mastercard and our customer.
About The Role• Own the day-to-day leadership of the program workstreams across the issuer and Mastercard• Serve as the primary operational point of contact, ensuring partner requests, deliverables and commitments are clearly defined, tracked and executed• Partner with product teams to support the development and execution of our strategy and go-to-market plan, ensuring alignment with account objectives• Utilize data analytics and competitive insights to assess customer performance and identify incremental revenue opportunities• Design and deliver tailored solutions that address customer needs while driving revenue, profitability, and value for both Mastercard and the customer• Collaborate with the customer to establish and execute annual business plans and quarterly reviews, tracking progress against shared objectives• Engage key decision-makers in strategic discussions around new and emerging trends and opportunities, positioning Mastercard solutions and industry insights to drive new revenue streams• Drive preparation for partner discussions, including agendas, briefing materials, executive readouts and follow-up actions.• Partner closely with internal stakeholders, including Product, Services, Finance, Legal, Franchise, Operations, and Technical Account Managers, to ensure seamless execution and holistic account support
All About You• Proven experience with sales, account management, enterprise sales, or strategic partnerships, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth; strong knowledge of the payments industry preferred• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and resilient in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment.• Demonstrated experience managing client relationships, with strong negotiation, influencing, and problem-solving skills• Strong business judgment and strategic thinking, with the ability to integrate insights across functions such as product, operations, and finance• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex solutions and value propositions to clients and stakeholders• Self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment• Strong understanding of card and payments industry trends, with the ability to position Mastercard solutions effectively and differentiate in the market• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel• Technologically savvy, with the ability to quickly learn and leverage new tools and platforms• Willingness to travel up to 25%

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Mastercard benefits for full time (and certain part time) employees generally include: insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance); flexible spending account and health savings account; paid leaves (including 16 weeks of new parent leave and up to 20 days of bereavement leave); 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time, 25 days of vacation time and 5 personal days, pro-rated based on date of hire; 10 annual paid U.S. observed holidays; 401k with a best-in-class company match; deferred compensation for eligible roles; fitness reimbursement or on-site fitness facilities; eligibility for tuition reimbursement; and many more. New York City, New York: $132,000 - $211,000 USD
O'Fallon, Missouri: $110,000 - $176,000 USD
