The Maintenance Planner & Scheduler is responsible for leading, coordinating, and optimizing maintenance planning and scheduling activities across our Kruiningen and Rilland sites. Reporting to the MAE Maintenance Manager, this role plays a critical part in improving asset reliability, maximizing equipment uptime, and extending asset life through effective preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
Working closely with production teams, maintenance technicians, suppliers, contractors, and OEM partners, you will help build a proactive, structured, and data-driven maintenance organization. Leveraging the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), you will drive maintenance excellence while supporting safety, quality, and continuous improvement objectives.
What you'll be doing.
- Plan and schedule daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual preventive and predictive maintenance activities.
- Coordinate maintenance execution across production, maintenance teams, contractors, and external service providers.
- Manage and optimize maintenance work orders through the CMMS and ensure timely completion and compliance.
- Monitor open, overdue, and completed work orders and provide regular maintenance performance reporting.
- Drive the implementation of maintenance planning standards, processes, and best practices to maximize equipment availability.
- Support food safety, quality, and safety programs, including GMP, HACCP, and LOTO requirements.
- Maintain equipment master data and Bills of Materials (BOMs) within the CMMS environment.
- Analyze maintenance data, identify improvement opportunities, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Facilitate maintenance planning and review meetings with key stakeholders.
- Support the development of maintenance capabilities through knowledge sharing, coaching, and training activities.
What you'll need to be successful.
- Degree or technical qualification in Engineering, Maintenance, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment; food manufacturing experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, and CMMS utilization.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and maintenance planning tools.
- Understanding of continuous improvement methodologies and data-driven decision-making.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven commitment to workplace safety, quality, and operational excellence.
- Fluency in English; Dutch language skills are considered an advantage.
Employment conditions:
- One-year contract with the prospect of a permanent position.
- Salary starting from €4,000 to €5,000 gross per month, depending on education and work experience.
- 25 vacation days and 15 additional leave (ATV) days - these can also be converted into extra salary.

You will be part of the McCain Appetizers Europe (MAE) Maintenance organization, supporting operations across both Rilland and Kruiningen facilities. The role acts as a vital link between Maintenance, Production, Procurement, Engineering, and external partners, contributing to the continuous advancement of maintenance maturity and operational performance.
