Lead and coach plant teams to implement MAFACT/lean principles (5S, SMED, Kaizen, Gemba). Deliver training, analyze work practices, develop standardized work, support ergonomics and safety, lead rapid improvement events, and support new program launches to improve safety, quality, timing, cost, and motivation.

Job Responsibilities:
To coordinate the implementation of standardized lean techniques and the World Class Manufacturing culture by identifying risk or inefficiencies within the manufacturing process, prepare and conduct training on MAFACT/ Lean principals, and facilitate a mindset of waste identification and elimination.
2) Follow and comply with all operational procedures/policies as stated in the employee Environmental Health and Safety programs
3) Follows and supports Magna's operating principles, including:
a. Magna Employee Charter - Operating under its principles by treating all team members equally, fairly and with dignity and respect.
b. Abide by Kamtek policies and procedures as described in the most current version of the Employee Handbook.
c. Open Door Policy - Solves issues with two-way, open and friendly communication.
d. 5S - Maintains and promotes good housekeeping by following the philosophy "Everything has a place. Everything in its place".
e. Safety First - Obey the plant's safety rules and procedures by always wearing PPE and immediately addressing all safety concerns. Promotes an environment where zero injuries are the expected standard.
f. Promote MAFACT benchmarks to achieve World Class Manufacturing.
g. Core values - Treat all team members equally, fairly, with dignity and respect without favoritism in accordance with company values.
h. Attend and participate in Team, Department, Plant-wide and any other meetings as required.
i. Conduct all activities in a professional manner and positive attitude with an emphasis on personal responsibility.
j. Listens to issues and concerns and responds within 48 hours.
k. Supports efforts to achieve department and plant goals on Employee Opinion Survey.
4) Promote a mindset of operational excellence across the organization through standardization, process controls, and defect prevention.
5) Provide training for plant personnel on Lean manufacturing including Lego training, and standardize work.
6) Analyze current work practices to identify opportunities for improvement; recommend countermeasures to optimize performance.
7) Train production teams in completing Standardize Work Documents, including work sequence charts, cycle time studies, and labor utilization,
8) Support safety via ergonomic analysis and development of corrective actions that reduce risk of work-related strains.
9) Support team leaders and supervisors on their lean journey by attending Tier meetings, and coaching problem solving activities. Support the Gemba process.
10) Support change over activities through SMED workshops
11) Lead cross-functional team in rapid improvement kaizen events that optimize quality, scrap, or other performance metrics. As well as 5S activities.
12) Ensure improvement activities are being communicated, understood, and supported with Lean manufacturing principals in mind throughout the organization.
13) Support launch of new programs by working with engineers through cardboard city through identification of waste and development of Standard Work Instructions.
14) Investigate, understand, and communicate best practices with other Magna divisions in an effort to continuously improve.
15) Perform other duties as required.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
SKILL (Ability to do the job)
This position will partner with all plant leaders and team members to develop, implement, and sustain lean manufacturing principals and continuous improvement projects to improve key performance metrics (SQTCM: Safety, Quality, Timing, Cost, Motivation).• Lead large and small-scale projects to improve production performance.• Be a key leader in the organization, participate in plant meetings (from high level strategy sessions down to daily walks).• Demonstrated ability to effect change in a manufacturing environment and ensure improvement activity is being communicated, understood, and supported within the organization.• Demonstrated ability to facilitate groups and deliver lean training.• High aptitude for problem solving and analytical thinking.• Highly organized, able to work with limited direct supervision, motivated to successfully meet deadlines, attention to detail and ability to multi-task.• Ability to read and understand quality standards.• Ability to manage the execution of complex projects.• Demonstrate the ability to build collaborative relationships and influence others.• Verbal and written communication skills; able to clearly articulate ideas and manage the change process.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Some of the physical demands of this position include:• Office and General factory environment• Able to be flexible in hours of work on short notice in order to meet internal/external customer requirements (scheduled and non-scheduled overtime shifts, etc.).• Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time, and occasional bending and stooping.• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.• The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
EDUCATION• High School Diploma or GED required• B.S. degree in Engineering (preferred), or minimum 5 years' experience in lean manufacturing
TECHNICAL TRAINING• Training in Lean manufacturing techniques
WORK EXPERIENCE• Operational experience• Automotive experience preferred• Knowledge of Internal Manufacturing and Major Business Processes• Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a Manufacturing Environment
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
