Job Responsibilities:
The Press Production Assistant Manager is responsible for all employee's safety and well-being, overall development and supervision of Supervisors and employees, health and safety, quality, customer cost, productivity, and ergonomic issues through using the company policies and procedures and the Magna Employee's Charter as a guideline. He/She will provide direction to the Press Supervisors in the Press department ensuring that the Customer, People, and Investor goals are balanced and met.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITIONS:
Follow and enforce all plant safety rules and policies. Follows and supports and Magna's operating principles, including:

Follow, comply, and enforce all operational procedures/policies as stated in the employee Environmental Health and Safety programs (Magna and OSHA-Standards). Responsible to ensure employees are properly trained and adhering to such policies, enforcing disciplinary actions when safety infractions occur, and conduct Team Safety Talks as required. Responsible for managing the production operation functions of the plant Assesses and assists in upgrading the supervisory and operator's talent and skills bases to achieve growth and meet market needs such as reduced cost, efficient production cycle times, uptimes, and reliable delivery Researches, plans, targets and controls reductions in costs of operations. Achieves yearly financial objectives. Prepares, controls and forecasts departmental budget Ensure that operating plans and methods to achieve maximum plant performance and reliability while maintaining EH & S compliance requirements Promote and practice "safety first" by immediately addressing any hazards, defective equipment or unsafe conditions within the manufacturing floor and workstations. Correct these issues through training or progressive discipline as appropriate. Ensure team members attend daily shift communications and weekly safety trainings so that they may receive all relevant safety training and communication in a timely manner Participate in accident and incident investigations and ensure that all accidents and incidents that occur have completed investigations documented and turned in to the health and safety team within 24 hours of the incident Ensure priorities for all production employees are safety, quality then delivery Coordinates plant PM schedules with the maintenance department to ensure equipment is maintained Lead the team in meeting or exceeding our quality goals and objectives Focus for long term goals are the formulation, planning, and implementation of strategies in conjunction with those of the customer and the Company Setting manning requirements and schedules to meet customer demands Participates in formulating and administering company policies, directing, and coordinating all department activities to develop and implement long range goals and objectives to meet business and profitability growth objectives Manages policy deployment in the areas of Lean Manufacturing techniques, quality, cost reduction, complete and on-time delivery, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations, visual controls, and plant performance measures Reviews operational goals and identifies gaps and implements corrective actions Oversees key projects, processes and performance reports, data and analysis related to production Reviews with staff processing schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints To oversee the hiring, training, and evaluation of staff members Ensure 100% On time delivery Develop and facilitate on-the-job employee training -encourages training and development. Promote continuous improvement programs; strive to maintain and improve productivity while capitalizing on cost reduction opportunities. Perform other duties as required.

- Knowledge and proven skills in World Class Manufacturing, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen.
- Welding Press Experience
- Strong math skills with the ability to apply to costs and analyze data.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Some of the physical demands of this position include the ability to lift 40 pounds, standing and walking for extended periods of time, and occasional bending or stooping. Office environment. May spend some time in manufacturing environment using normal PPE and safety precautions.

EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or GED required, Bachelor's Degree in Production/Operations Management or related field, or equivalent work-related experience.
TECHNICAL TRAINING: Automated systems environment, Automotive preferred
OTHER: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and manufacturing operation systems (ERP, MES, etc.).
