About the role Job SummaryThe Sr. Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining production machinery, ensuring efficient and safe operations. This role performs advanced machine setup, monitors production quality, and may assist in training junior operators.
This job profile is intended for experienced support-level staff that generally works autonomously and only requires closer supervision in non-routine situations.
The Opportunity:
Sulzer is looking for an experienced Machinist to undertake machining of components and parts on driven machinery in accordance with Sulzer standards and specification.

- Follow safety rules and regulations, attend safety meetings, and contribute towards having a safe work environment.
Your Responsibilities: (NOT LIMITED TO)
- Ensure quality standards and engineering standards are conformed to in accordance with engineering drawings.
- Ensure product is compliant with Sulzer and Customer specific quality and engineering standards
- Be able to work independently and make decisions in conjunction with the supervisor regarding tooling, jigs and fixtures.
- Pre and final machining of components in accordance with specifications.
- Follow departmental standards, both written and verbal.
- Fully inspect work done according to specific requirements.
- Read, analyze, understand, and follow engineering drawings
- Read, understand, and follow instructions given on the production order.
- Use specific engineering measuring equipment such as micrometers, Vernier’s etc.
- Operate different machines, follow the safety standards, and use guards where applicable.
- Any other reasonable work instructions to be followed.
What We’re Looking For:
- Detailed knowledge of the various machining practices including turning, milling, shaft grinding, drilling and marking off, experience required.
- Sound knowledge of CNC and manual machining practices required experience in Mazatrol and Haas control. Knowledge on Fanuc and Siemens an advantage.
- Qualified Trade Tested Fitter or Fitter/Turner
