Team Overview

Our team focuses on Commercial products that enable our customers to confidently grow, expand into new channels, reduce costs and comply with regulations while enabling them to reduce risk and create great customer experiences through our solution, insights from our data and analytics. This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.

Role Overview And Core Responsibilities

You will develop and execute regional strategies for TransUnion Africa’s Commercial products and provide direction and guidance to achieve revenue projections while delivering and executing against a plan to drive incremental growth above current forecasts. You will serve as an ambassador of the CoE by driving the delivery and adoption of Commercial products across various cross functional teams to achieve long-term results.

Core Responsibilities

  • Serve as the local ambassador for the Africa region for Commercial products and as the primary link between the African region and the CoE.
  • Work with the CoE to evolve and adapt overall product line strategies for Commercial across industries. Communicate innovative product ideas to the CoE and work together on the product development lifecycle to establish the voice of the customer, develop business cases, deliver new products and execute GTM efforts to support regional growth aspirations.
  • Conduct market and competitor analysis.
  • Set aspirational revenue goals that exceed current revenue projections and work with Sales/Analytics to develop plans to achieve set goals.
  • Achieve Annual Revenue Plan and product margins by managing the overall pipeline and costs for Commercial initiatives in Africa. 
  • Develop all required marketing collateral.
  • Develop comprehensive sales training plans to increase awareness of Commercial solution sets with our Sales teams and to ensure sales team effectiveness.
  • Support Sales by participating in sales conversations as a Subject Matter Expert (SME).  Serve as an active SME on sales calls and engagements.
  • Ensure all solutions are on track for final delivery and meet client’s overall expectations while maintaining TU’s brand as a leading solutions risk provider.
  • Maintain all existing Commercial solutions.
  • Engage customers in ideation and product development/validation.
  • Participate in industry events, and provide thought leadership, guidance and continuous improvements on Commercial products.
  • Prepare and deliver monthly reports and dashboards that provide clarity and transparency across product, sales, Analytics & IT to monitor product adoption and GTM execution.
  • Implement and maintain sound business processes that minimises risk and delivers quality business requirements, while delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Implement and maintain all legal, risk and compliance requirements as it relates to the Commercial portfolio.
  • Manage strategic partnerships and key alliances for the product suite.
  • Manage stakeholders across various cross functional teams.
  • Drive data acquisition initiatives to enrich the commercial portfolio data base.

Required Knowledge And Experiences

  • This position requires an advanced degree with more than 7 years’ experience relating to product management specializing in commercial management.
  • The individual must display business maturity, analytic ability and strong communication skills
  • Excellent presentation abilities and the ability to explain complex concepts and solutions in a simplified but persuasive way.
  • Proven ability to innovate new concepts and solutions.
