THE ROLE:Our site in Chaska, MN is seeking a Machinist IV R&D to join our team.The machining department produces a variety of high-quality plastic components and parts that our customers use with other components to dispense, transport, and store a range of different chemicals. In this role you will set up and operate both manual and CNC machines, actively troubleshoot any technical challenges that may arise during production. You will also assist manufacturing operators through setup activities, as well as troubleshooting and escalating issues. This role will have the potential to grow and create relationships across the organization and be recognized for demonstrated success and adherence to company PACE values. If you are a motivated high performer who wants to work and learn in a fast-growing company, this role is designed for you.HOURS FOR THIS POSITION ARE DAY SHIFT MONDAY-FRIDAYWHAT YOU’LL DO:- Downloads and interprets complex engineering blueprints detailing work order specifications to determine machine requirements to complete the order.
- Set ups and operates manual and CNC machines (lathes, mills, grinders, 5-axis machines) to produce precision parts in accordance with work order specifications.
- Assists manufacturing operators in understanding setup parameters and CNC machine settings for specific work orders.
- Ensures proper setup of CNC programs including installing cutting tools, fixtures, and other accessories required for the parts production.
- Collaborates with process technician to program CNC mills or lathes when running a specific product for the first time utilizing MASTERCAM software and transfers map files to CNC machines.
- Issues materials, enters work order information and status updates on SAP, and on a spreadsheet for record-keeping.
- Performs manual and CNC machine preventative maintenance tasks and housekeeping duties.
- Verifies product visually and takes corrective action when necessary. Ensures product is consistent with established specifications through Camline by utilizing different measuring tools, such as calipers and drop indicators. Escalating quality issues as appropriate. Ensuring the highest possible product quality and adherence to the Entegris quality policy, ISO and/or other standards.
- Finalizes all required paperwork thoroughly and timely (i.e. Production Reports, Rack Tickets, Labels, Component Sheets, Rework Sheets, SAP Transactions etc.). Maintains accurate attribute/variable charts of rejected materials.
- Integrates on all key business processes to influence customer satisfaction, waste elimination, growth, cost effectiveness and product/system quality. Promotes and implements use of continuous improvement tools to eliminate non-value activities. Participates actively in continuous improvement activities such as 6s, Kaizen events, etc.
- Maintains a clean and safe work area. Performs duties in a safe manner and observes approved safety procedures. Communicates potential hazards immediately to supervisor.
- Completes miscellaneous tasks assigned in support of the larger organization and production goals.
- Must be 18 years or older and have the right to work in the US without sponsorship.
- Vocational or technical training in machining or two (2) years of equivalent experience preferred.
- Proficiency with reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Familiarity with manual and CNC machining equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and machine troubleshooting skills.
- Basic knowledge about powered hand tools and measuring tools.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations.
- Basic computer and data entry skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work in a team setting.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.

- Compensation: $34-$45 hourly range with actual pay dependent on candidate overall skills for the role.
