THE ROLE:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to join our Logistics team. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in international logistics and experience coordinating shipments from vendors/factories through final delivery.

This role is highly collaborative and requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple shipments, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously. The Logistics Coordinator will work closely with freight forwarders, overseas vendors/factories, and internal departments including Production, Sales, Customer Service, Finance, and other cross-functional teams to ensure shipments move efficiently and arrive on time.

In addition to core logistics responsibilities, this position will support our GS1 program, UCC-128 carton labeling, cartonization, and factory coordination, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to expand their logistics expertise within the apparel industry.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking ownership of shipments from start to finish.  They should be confident communicating with vendors and logistics partners, while also being able to work effectively with multiple internal departments.

Most importantly, this person should have a strong logistics coordination foundation and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly. Experience with GS1/UCC-128, cartonization, and factory operations is a strong advantage, but the ability to learn and grow in these areas is equally important.

Key Responsibilities

Shipment & Logistics Management

  • Track and monitor international and domestic shipments from origin through final delivery.
  • Maintain accurate shipment status updates and proactively identify potential delays or issues.
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, 3PL warehouses, and other logistics partners.
  • Follow up with vendors/factories regarding shipment readiness, booking information, ETDs, ETAs, documentation, and delivery requirements.
  • Review shipping documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Communicate shipment delays, changes, and exceptions to the appropriate internal teams.
  • Ensure shipments meet required delivery dates and company guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate shipment records and provide regular reporting and updates to the Logistics team.

Vendor & Factory Coordination

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with overseas vendors and factories.
  • Communicate directly with factories regarding shipping requirements, production readiness, carton information, and documentation.
  • Work closely with vendors to resolve shipment discrepancies, delays, documentation issues, and other logistics-related concerns.
  • Ensure factories understand and follow company shipping and labeling requirements.
  • Partner with Production and other teams to align factory readiness with shipping timelines.
  • Cross-Functional Communication
  • Work closely with internal departments including Production, Sales, Sales Operations, Finance, and Logistics to ensure accurate and timely flow of information.
  • Provide shipment updates and relevant information to internal stakeholders.
  • Assist with resolving issues that impact customer delivery dates, inventory availability, or financial processing.
  • Serve as a key point of contact between internal teams, vendors, and logistics service providers.

GS1 / UCC-128 Program

  • Support and maintain the company’s GS1/UCC-128 carton labeling program.
  • Coordinate with vendors/factories to ensure carton labels are created and applied according to company and customer requirements.
  • Review and troubleshoot UCC-128 label issues and work with factories to correct discrepancies.
  • Assist with cartonization of goods, including carton quantities & ensure compliance within the guidelines of the program.
  • Work closely with factories to ensure cartonization and labeling information is accurate before goods ship.
  • Help ensure carton information aligns with purchase orders, shipping documentation, and customer requirements.

Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or a related field, preferably in an apparel environment.
  • Strong foundation in logistics coordination and shipment tracking.
  • Experience working with freight forwarders, vendors, factories, and/or carriers.
  • Experience with international shipping and familiarity with import processes preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with GS1, UCC-128 labeling, or retail carton labeling requirements.
  • Experience with cartonization, carton packing information, or factory packing compliance.
  • Experience working directly with overseas apparel factories.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems.
  • Apparel industry experience is a plus.

The annual salary for this full-time role depends on experience between $65,000 - $85,000.
