Position Summary

The Logistics Assistant is responsible to work with the Logistics and Finance members to ensure timely and accurate entry of all freight bills into the Freight Audit and Payment systems.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper entry of all orders into software system
  • Verify appropriate approvals have been received to process orders
  • Research and resolve invoices that are not in compliance with contractual agreements
  • Examine freight bills for accuracy against contracted rates
  • Communicate with carriers to get necessary paperwork in a timely fashion
  • Learn company operations: Learn company operations for the brand and various internal departments
  • Enter all manually received invoices accurately within 1 business day of receipt
  • Verify all data is entered accurate prior to export cut-off time
  • Lead weekly/monthly calls with Finance/AP to review status of freight entry activities
  • Maintain excellent relationships with clients and carriers, providing clear and concise information and directions
  • Monitor issues, ensuring mutual resolution, escalating to the Account Manager as required
  • Identify areas to improve, resulting in reduction or absence of finance charges
  • Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with clients and carriers
  • Run and distribute required reports
  • Ensure month-end tasks are completed accurately and on-time

Experience & Skills

Experience

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Previous Traffic or related experience preferred
  • Previous data entry experience preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software

Required Skills

  • Effective time management skills.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team.
  • Effective interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work with minimal supervision
  • Sound mathematical and numeracy skills
