We are looking for a Linguistic Specialist to contribute to the execution and refinement of content localization workflows for your native language.

This is an entry-level, individual contributor role designed to support early-career linguists and translators looking to grow in the game localization industry. You’ll work under the guidance of senior language leads and localization producers to help ensure accurate and player-relevant content in a structured and supportive environment.

What We Need
  • Translate or edit in-game text, UI strings, and basic marketing content from English into natural, culturally appropriate Italian
  • Follow established style guides, glossaries, and tone-of-voice documentation to maintain consistency
  • Collaborate with senior linguists and QA to review linguistic bugs, provide clarifications, and contribute to resolutions
  • Assist in terminology verification and contribute to updates of language resources under guidance
  • Participate in localization test passes for your language and help flag basic language or formatting issues
  • Review task briefs and submit questions or suggestions to more senior professionals for review
  • Track assigned tasks and update documentation in localization and project management tools (e.g., XLOC, Confluence, Jira)
  • Join team meetings or syncs as needed to stay informed on localization strategy and priorities for Italian
  • Contribute to documentation improvements by flagging unclear instructions or suggesting basic refinements
Requirements
  • Native-level fluency in Italian, with strong grammar and written fluency
  • English fluency for reading, communication, and collaboration
  • Experience in translation, linguistic QA, localization coursework, or related academic fields
  • Familiarity with localization workflows or content management tools is a plus
  • A strong interest in gaming, cross-cultural communication, and in-language content quality
  • Basic organizational skills and the ability to follow task guidelines and meet deadlines
  • A desire to learn and grow under supervision in a fast-paced, global content environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in linguistics, translation, media, or a related field preferred
Why Join Us

As a Linguistic Specialist, you’ll build a strong foundation in game localization while directly contributing to content delivered to millions of players worldwide. You’ll work alongside experienced language experts, QA professionals, and production teams—developing skills that support your growth across multiple localization career paths under 2K’s Global Loc 2.0 program.
