What We Need

As part of 2K’s evolving Global Loc 2.0 strategy, we are expanding our in-house localization team to elevate linguistic quality and cultural authenticity across our game portfolio. We are seeking a Linguistic Specialist to support the translation, editing, and validation of localized content in their Castilian Spanish, while gaining hands-on experience with localization tools, pipelines, and cross-functional collaboration.

This is an entry-level, individual contributor role designed to support early-career linguists and translators looking to grow in the game localization industry. You’ll work under the guidance of senior language leads and localization producers to help ensure accurate and player-relevant content in a structured and supportive environment.


WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Translate or edit in-game text, UI strings, and basic marketing content from English into natural, culturally appropriate Castilian Spanish
     
  • Follow established style guides, glossaries, and tone-of-voice documentation to maintain consistency
     
  • Collaborate with senior linguists and QA to review linguistic bugs, provide clarifications, and contribute to resolutions
     
  • Assist in terminology verification and contribute to updates of language resources under guidance
     
  • Participate in localization test passes for your language and help flag basic language or formatting issues
     
  • Review task briefs and submit questions or suggestions to more senior professionals for review
     
  • Track assigned tasks and update documentation in localization and project management tools (e.g., XLOC, Confluence, Jira)
     
  • Join team meetings or syncs as needed to stay informed on localization strategy and priorities for your language
     
  • Contribute to documentation improvements by flagging unclear instructions or suggesting basic refinements

  • Bachelor’s degree in linguistics, translation, media, or a related field preferred
