At Broadridge, we've built a culture where the highest goal is to empower others to accomplish more. If you’re passionate about developing your career, while helping others along the way, come join the Broadridge team.
Role Overview
Broadridge is seeking a skilled and collaborative Linux System Engineer to join the Systems Engineering team. This pivotal role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-grade Linux infrastructure with a strong focus on automation, security compliance, standardization, and operational excellence.
The successful candidate brings deep technical expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) ecosystems and modern automation tooling, with a passion for building scalable, repeatable, and secure infrastructure solutions. This role also supports continuous improvement through documentation, team development, operational readiness, and evaluation of emerging and AI-assisted technologies.
Responsibilities
Administer and optimize Ansible and Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) for enterprise-scale automation workflows, including pipelines for security patching, OS updates, and compliance remediation.
Develop, maintain, and expand Ansible playbooks, roles, collections, and version-controlled Infrastructure as Code repositories to automate repetitive operational tasks and improve consistency across Linux environments.
Design, deploy, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 7/8/9) systems across development, staging, and production environments, while supporting infrastructure availability, performance, reliability, capacity planning, tuning, and lifecycle management.
Manage and administer Red Hat Satellite for content lifecycle management, content views, lifecycle environments, host registration, activation keys, remote execution, provisioning, and patch management.
Establish, implement, and enforce OS baseline standards, configuration management policies, and environment normalization practices to ensure consistency, compliance, and standardization across enterprise Linux systems.
Own and drive the automated security patching lifecycle from vulnerability identification through patch testing, deployment, validation, and response to CVEs and security advisories, while collaborating with Security teams to remediate vulnerabilities and implement hardening standards at scale.
Implement and maintain role-based access controls (RBAC), audit logging, and system integrity monitoring, and ensure alignment with internal security policies and applicable frameworks such as CIS benchmarks, DISA STIGs, PCI-DSS, SOX, NIST, or related standards.
Collaborate across the SE Team Lead, DevOps, Security, Application, and Network teams; document systems, processes, runbooks, and automation workflows; support team development through knowledge sharing; participate in on-call rotation and incident response; evaluate AI-assisted and emerging technologies; and, where applicable, support low-latency or high-performance environments including HFT infrastructure, real-time kernel configurations, and latency optimization.
Your Profile
5+ years of hands-on Linux systems engineering experience for mid-level roles, or 7+ years for senior-level roles, with deep expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 7/8/9) installation, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting.
Strong proficiency with Ansible, including writing and maintaining complex playbooks, roles, and modules, as well as hands-on experience with Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) and enterprise automation practices.
Demonstrated experience with Red Hat Satellite, including content views, lifecycle environments, activation keys, host registration, remote execution, provisioning, and patch management.
Strong understanding of Linux security fundamentals, including SELinux, firewalld, PAM, sudoers, auditd, system hardening, automated patching workflows, OS update orchestration, and compliance-driven remediation.
Solid understanding of networking and infrastructure concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, NFS, bonding/teaming, VLANs, Red Hat Cluster, virtual IP management, virtualization platforms such as oVirt, Red Hat KVM, and VMware, and enterprise hardware and storage environments including Dell, HP, Cisco UCS, EMC, Hitachi SAN storage, and Cisco SAN switches.
