Position Summary
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for monitoring, verifying, and documenting product quality, food safety, and regulatory compliance throughout the manufacturing process. This position performs quality inspections, analytical testing, packaging evaluations, equipment verification, and Critical Control Point (CCP) monitoring to ensure products consistently meet company specifications, customer requirements, HACCP standards, and regulatory requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform routine in-process product inspections and quality evaluations.
- Monitor and document HACCP Critical Control Points (CCPs).
- Perform net weight, fill weight, residual air, coding, labeling, and packaging verification checks.
- Perform pH, Brix, salt, viscosity, solids, and hydration testing.
- Conduct seal integrity, burst, peel, and package quality testing.
- Verify and calibrate the functionality of quality equipment.
- Pull, label, log, and store retention samples.
- Support sanitation verification, audits, investigations, and corrective actions.
- Communicate quality issues and product non-conformances.
- Perform other duties assigned by Quality Management.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Food manufacturing or QA experience preferred.
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, USDA, FDA, SQF, or related food safety systems preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to wear required PPE.
Skills Required
