Our Consulting Engineers are an integral part of the Customer Experience (CX) team delivering Lifecycle Services (LCS) to our customers! We combine the power of Cisco Analytics and Knowledge with the outstanding technical expertise and consulting (that's you) to drive value, innovation, and adoption in our customer's network. We help them to reduce risk, drive innovation, and enhance their network to meet business objectives. We are the customer's trusted advisor and guide, helping the customer understand their network, reduce risks, and take advantage of the technology. We work closely with Cisco Engineering to advocate for innovation for our customer and as a liaison, share what is coming with our customers to help them be the groundbreakers of technology.
Your Impact
This role requires you to be self-motivated, flexible and to be able to balance multiple projects at the same time. As a Consulting Engineer, you will help drive the effort to transform our current and future architecture for our customers. In addition to day-to-day customer activities, training and mentoring other engineers will be required. Bring your creative solutions and be an asset to our team!
Responsibilities:
- Engages with customers to create value and deliver outcomes, adoption, and renewals. Proactively collaborates cross-functionally teams to ensure a unified customer experience across the lifecycle
- Provide Day-2 support on Cisco products and solutions for customers, leveraging technical expertise, AI and automation, strategic guidance, and innovative solutions to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction
- Serves as a focal point for proactive problem resolution, providing timely support across Cisco technologies
- Leads optimization of Cisco services and solutions, ensuring alignment with customer goals
- Develops and delivers technical content and guidance that supports customer engagements, drives solution adoption, and leads collaboration across internal teams and external stakeholders
- Creates customer-facing documentation, ensuring deliverables are technically sound, clearly articulated, and aligned with CX standards
- Leverages AI and automation to enhance delivery efficiency, innovation and customer outcomes, while also increasing personal productivity and focus on high-impact work
- Contributes to knowledge sharing and the development of digital intellectual capital, including documentation templates, automation artifacts and other assets that improve Cisco delivery methodology and processes
- Receives limited supervision. Receives little instruction on routine work and new assignments. Provides guidance and mentoring to other engineers. Translates team goals into work assignments.
- Being a trusted advisor & mentor. Emphasis is on the facilitation of processes, solutions.
Minimum Qualifications (Provide up to five (5) bullet points –
- Bachelors or Master's degree in a technical field, such as Computer Science, Information Technology or a similar field.
- 6+ years of experience in technical consulting, design, deployment, and troubleshooting.
- Technical knowledge / understandings of L2 / L3 networking protocols and technologies (VPC, STP, HSRP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP).
- Strong Nexus 2K/5K/7K/9K platform knowledge and hands-on experience.
- Has knowledge of overlay technologies VXLAN, BGP EVPN and Cisco ACI Fabric solutions using ACI MultiPod /Multisite Fabric architectures.
- Has knowledge and understandings of Cisco SDN based technologies such as Cisco ACI, Cisco Programmable Network Portfolio (Standalone VXLAN-Fabric).
- Experience in installation, configuration, testing and troubleshooting and/or Network solution designing of Cisco routers and switch in a medium to large scale data center network.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, ability to communicate technology strategy and architecture approach to engineers, executives, and Cisco customers.
Preferred Qualifications (Provide up to five (5) bullet points:
- Ability to influence, motivate and work in a highly cross-functional matrix environment to drive outcomes based plans, programs and execution.
- Prior experience of conducting customer workshops, High level and low level network design experience would be preferred.
- Experience in service provider products(ASR9k/NCS5K) and technologies is preferred
- AI-assisted productivity tools usage exp and Network automation skills preferred (Python/ Ansible/ GoLang/ Splunk)
- DC CCNP/CCIE is preferred

Skills Required
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar technical field.
