Job Objective

The Life Enrichment Support Float provides hands-on leadership and support to communities needing additional focus within their Life Enrichment programs. This role partners with community leadership and Life Enrichment teams to assess programming, identify opportunities, implement improvements, and strengthen resident engagement.

The primary focus is helping communities make meaningful and sustainable progress through hands-on support, coaching, training, and Life Enrichment best practices. This position may also provide interim department coverage during vacancies, leaves of absence, or leadership transitions.

Job Responsibilities and Duties

Community Support & Improvement

  • Provide hands-on support to communities needing additional focus within Life Enrichment.
  • Assess activity calendars, programming, resident participation, department organization, and overall resident engagement.
  • Partner with community leadership and Life Enrichment teams to identify priorities and implement improvement plans.
  • Assist with developing engaging, well-rounded programming for Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Care Suites, as applicable.
  • Help establish consistent systems and best practices that can be sustained after support has transitioned.
  • Monitor progress and provide follow-up support as needed.

Coaching & Team Development

  • Coach and mentor Life Enrichment Directors and team members through hands-on training and support.
  • Help teams strengthen calendar development, organization, programming, communication, budgeting, and program execution.
  • Model creative and effective approaches to resident engagement.
  • Support strong Memory Care programming for residents at varying cognitive levels.
  • Assist with onboarding and development of Life Enrichment team members as needed.

TSO Platform Support

  • Utilize the TSO Life Enrichment platform to support programming, calendars, documentation, and resident engagement.
  • Train and coach Life Enrichment team members on effective and consistent use of TSO.
  • Help communities maximize TSO tools and resources to strengthen programming.

Programming & Resident Engagement

  • Lead and participate in activities and events alongside community teams.
  • Introduce fresh programming ideas based on resident interests, abilities, and needs.
  • Support resident councils, volunteer programs, outings, special events, transportation coordination, and community partnerships.
  • Help communities utilize team members, volunteers, families, vendors, and outside resources to enhance resident experiences.

Float Coverage

  • Provide Life Enrichment department coverage during vacancies, leaves of absence, or leadership transitions as assigned.
  • Maintain programming, resident engagement, and department operations during interim coverage.
  • Support newly hired Life Enrichment Directors during onboarding and transition as needed.

Qualifications

  • BA in Gerontology, Human Services, Therapeutic Recreation, Social Services, Activity Director Certification, or equivalent relevant experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of Life Enrichment/Activities experience in senior living, assisted living, Memory Care, or long-term care.
  • Life Enrichment leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong coaching, mentoring, training, and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities and implement program improvements.
  • Experience with TSO Life Enrichment preferred, with the ability to effectively train and coach others.
  • Creative and energetic approach to resident programming and engagement.
  • Knowledge of Memory Care programming and engagement strategies.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly, work independently, and build positive relationships with different community teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain the appropriate driver's license required to operate community vehicles.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly between assigned communities.
