The Capital Markets to team continues expand and is currently seeking a well-seasoned Standby Letter of Credit (SBLC) Operations professional who can help navigate an expanding product offering, a customer base whose needs are growing in complexity, volumes, and a technological transformation. The SBLC Operations Manager will be responsible for maintaining a stable environment whereby the day-to-day operational functions, reporting, and the servicing of our clients and portfolio is performed efficiently and within the guidelines of the Capital Markets Trade Finance (TF) team procedures. In addition, the SBLC manager will proactively manage the needs of the front office, liaise with partner departments across the banking organization, and lead, teach, and empower, the SBLC team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee the bank’s entire SBLC portfolio.
- Identify and implement new processes that increase the level of efficiency and improve reporting.
- Work closely with the TF Sales office to educate RMs on best practice for managing their SBLC portfolio.
- Provide high-touch customer service to all internal and external customers.
- Manage and oversee processes that support evergreen SBLC management including Non-Extension Notice deadlines and timely updates to customers and RMs of upcoming events.
- Work closely with both the TF Sales and Operations managers to build out enhancements and resolve issues as they arise.
- Remain abreast of the latest SBLC trends and Swift offerings/modules.
- Manage existing SBLC portfolio with correspondent banks to stay atop of new offerings and features.
- Be an integral contributor to the bank’s ongoing technologization of the trade finance line of business.
- Support or lead project management initiatives, including future system integrations/enhancements.
- Support the TF Credit policy and procedure review and update process.
- Demonstrate difference making leadership for direct reports and Capital Markets Operations team.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years leading Standby Letter of Credit or Trade Finance Operations by example, with consistent results, and demonstrated ability.
- Must have the ability to manage projects with strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Must have excellent critical thinking skills.
- Must be self-motivated and committed to excellence.
- Must have demonstrated attention to detail and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must have the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.
- Must have the ability to navigate shifting priorities.
