A Day in the Life• Serve as legal counsel and business partner to designated operating units and functions on an ongoing basis.• Advise relevant stakeholders on commercial and corporate legal matters.
Main Responsibilities (in non-prioritized order):
Serve as legal counsel and business partner to designated operating units and functions on an ongoing basis.
Advise relevant stakeholders on commercial and corporate legal matters.
Key Accountabilities:
Review, draft and advise on agreements and documents relating to business developments or operations.
Identify improvement opportunities in contract templates and management processes.
Advise internal clients on a variety of commercial and corporate matters.
Identify potential areas of legal risk and/or vulnerability; develop and implement corrective action plans and provide guidance on avoiding or addressing similar issues.
Manage litigation or other dispute resolution with external counsel based on internal alignment.
Liaise and communicate with government agencies on an as-needed basis.
Deliver legal training to internal stakeholders to enhance awareness of regulations and internal policies.
Submit regular reports and updates to the Senior Legal Manager or Chief Counsel on key matters as required.
Oversee Chinese external counsel to ensure effective legal/business advice to internal clients in a cost-effective way.
Work within and actively promote Medtronic’s core mission, corporate strategies, policies, procedures, and Code of Conduct.
Perform all other duties as assigned.

Experience and Knowledge:
4–8 years of legal experience with a solid track record at prestigious law firms and/or in-house at multinational corporations (experience in the medical devices or pharmaceutical industry is preferred).
Fluent in spoken and written English; capable of reviewing and drafting legal documents in English.
Experience in commercial litigation, external inquiries, or comprehensive document drafting is a plus.
Qualifications:
PRC bar qualification; and
LLB or LLM from a reputable law school in China (overseas education background is a plus).
