Pharmathen offers a great opportunity for career development and is seeking to recruit a Legal Compliance & Personal Data Expert to join our Legal team at our Marousi premises.

The Legal Compliance & Personal Data Specialist acts as an in-house legal partner, supporting the Company in ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, internal policies, and industry standards, with a particular focus on compliance programs, data protection, privacy matters, and responsible business practices. The ideal candidate will provide practical legal guidance to internal stakeholders, supports the implementation and continuous improvement of the Company's compliance framework, and helps ensure that business activities are conducted in accordance with applicable pharmaceutical regulations, ethical standards, and data protection requirements.


Requirements

What you will do:

More particularly:

  • Act as an in-house legal advisor on compliance and data privacy matters, providing practical guidance and support to internal stakeholders
  • Support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Company's Compliance Program and related initiatives
  • Monitor regulatory developments and industry standards and assess their potential impact on business activities
  • Provide legal support on personal data protection matters, ensuring compliance with GDPR and applicable privacy regulations
  • Support business functions in identifying, assessing, and mitigating compliance and privacy risks
  • Review and advise on personal data processing activities, privacy assessments, and relevant documentation
  • Support the preparation, review, and maintenance of privacy-related documentation, including policies, procedures, records of processing activities, privacy notices, and guidelines
  • Review and support the negotiation of data protection-related contractual documentation, including Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), confidentiality agreements, and vendor-related privacy requirements
  • Support the development, implementation, and update of internal compliance policies, procedures, and controls
  • Assist in compliance risk assessments, monitoring activities, and internal compliance reviews
  • Support interactions with Healthcare Professionals (HCPs), Healthcare Organizations (HCOs), and other relevant stakeholders in accordance with applicable laws, company policies, and industry codes
  • Provide compliance guidance on promotional, commercial, and internal materials, where required
  • Support transparency and disclosure obligations applicable to the pharmaceutical industry
  • Provide support on anti-bribery and anti-corruption matters, including awareness initiatives and compliance requirements
  • Develop and deliver compliance and data protection training programs for employees and relevant stakeholders
  • Support internal investigations and compliance-related matters in collaboration with relevant internal teams and external advisors, where required

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Law degree (LLB. or equivalent)
  • Qualified lawyer admitted to a Bar Association
  • Relevant certifications in Data Protection/Privacy (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM, or equivalent) will be considered an asset
  • 5+ years of professional experience in legal compliance, data protection, privacy, or legal advisory roles
  • Experience within an in-house legal/compliance department or a law firm with exposure to compliance and data protection matters
  • Good knowledge of GDPR and applicable data privacy regulations
  • Experience in highly regulated industries, preferably pharmaceutical, healthcare, life sciences, or related sectors
  • Experience supporting compliance programs, policies, risk assessments, and internal controls
  • Experience with pharmaceutical industry codes, transparency requirements, or interactions with HCPs/HCOs will be considered an asset

Job-Specific Skills:

  • Fluency in English (written and spoken); additional languages are considered an asset
  • Computer literacy
  • Strong understanding of compliance principles, GDPR requirements, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Ability to translate legal and regulatory requirements into practical business solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with cross-functional teams.
