Primary Accountabilities
- Lead a team of Litigation professionals including attorneys and litigation adjusters responsible for managing challenging enterprise claims litigation.
- Oversee and manage the performance and outcomes of a portfolio of high complexity and high severity claims litigation. This includes catastrophic injury and wrongful death litigation, as well as high exposure property damage cases. Additionally, it encompasses other complex and high exposure litigation matters.
- Assure efficient management of litigation expenses and driving favorable loss outcomes.
- You will use data to improve litigation outcomes including monitoring KPI's, and trend analyzation in severity, trial outcomes, cycle times and legal expenses.
- You will collaborate with panel and staff counsel as appropriate while driving resolution strategies that balance customer, financial and reputational considerations.
- You will oversee trial readiness and selection of matters appreciate for trial within the complex litigation team and monitor emerging legal and litigation trends and share key insights with team.
- Attract, develop, and retain a highly engaged team that contributions to overall success of the enterprise and escalate any significant matters to our executive leadership.
- You will serve as a strategic partner across the enterprise with key business parters in claims, product, underwriting, loss reserving, reinsurance, compliance, government affairs, and corporate legal as well as operating companies.
- Create a collaborative, performance-driven work environment by facilitating and fostering trust, transparency and inclusion. You will also work with team members to set clear goals, provide feedback, perform performance assessments and support ongoing development. You will lead with influence and expertise by contributing to the divisional and departmental leadership team. Oversee the representation or represent the corporation in administrative forums and court on behalf of the corporation.

- Demonstrated litigation management experience
- Demonstrated financial acumen in indemnity and expense management including reserving, expense management, budget management, and key insurance ratios
- Demonstrated ability to translate data into actionable litigation strategies
- Demonstrated experience providing practical legal analysis in complex and sensitive legal matters
- Solid knowledge of the legal, regulatory, and administrative procedures pertaining to the insurance industry
- Admission to State Bar
- Juris Doctor

In this primarily office-based role, you will be expected to spend at least 80% of your time (4+ days per week) working from the office. Candidates should reside within approximately 35-50 miles of one of the following office locations: Madison, WI 53783; Boston, MA 02110.
