Our firm is one of New Jersey's leading Creditors' Rights law firms, representing many of the nation's largest mortgage lenders and loan servicers in residential foreclosure matters. We are seeking a motivated Legal Assistant or Paralegal to join our Service Team.
This position offers a unique opportunity to develop a comprehensive understanding of the foreclosure process. While your primary responsibilities will focus on service of process, successful candidates will receive ongoing training and have the opportunity to expand their responsibilities as they gain experience.

Primary Responsibilities
- Coordinate service of process with process servers throughout New Jersey.
- Review affidavits of service for accuracy and court compliance.
- Monitor service deadlines and proactively resolve service-related issues.
- Investigate difficult-to-serve defendants through skip tracing and other research.
- Prepare certifications, and other documents necessary to complete service.
- Review returned mail, address updates, occupancy information, and service exceptions.
- Communicate regularly with process servers and attorneys.
- Maintain accurate case information within the firm's case management system.
- Assist attorneys and senior paralegals in resolving procedural issues that arise throughout the service process.
Professional Growth Opportunities
As your knowledge and experience develop, you will receive training in additional stages of the foreclosure process, including:
- Preparing Applications for Default.
- Reviewing foreclosure files for procedural compliance.
- Analyzing court rules and filing requirements.
- Managing matters through the default stage of litigation.
- Working directly with attorneys on more complex foreclosure matters.

Qualifications

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel).
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior legal assistant or paralegal experience.
- Experience in foreclosure, creditors' rights, mortgage servicing, civil litigation, or collections is a plus.
- Experience with service of process is helpful but not required.
