RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work directly with fact witnesses to support court, pre-trial, and grand jury appearances
- Handle witness inquiries and gather information for appearance, travel, and reimbursement records
- Notify witnesses of appearance and travel details; identify special needs and alert the AUSA as appropriate
- Coordinate with AUSAs on witness appearances and special circumstances, including special authorizations
- Meet and orient witnesses, accompany them to court, and collect required reimbursement documentation
- Coordinate with courts, Probation, Pretrial, U.S. Marshals, investigative agencies, and other Government partners
- Arrange fact witness travel and lodging in accordance with Department of Justice and USAO policies and procedures
- Prepare and submit witness vouchers and reimbursement documentation; track voucher status
- Gather required supporting documentation and reconcile Government Travel Accounts
- Prepare recurring documents & routine correspondence using established legal procedures, terminology, style & format
- Maintain fact witness files, databases, calendars, and records in accordance with DOJ requirements
- Track hearings, trial dates, grand jury appearances, scheduling conferences, and other active or pending witness activities
- Perform related administrative and logistical fact witness management support as required
REQUIRED BACKGROUND
- High school diploma (Undergraduate degree preferred)
- Good communication skills for working directly with fact witnesses and Government personnel
- Accurate data processing, analytical computations, and internal status tracking
- Database data entry/retrieval and ability to manipulate, transfer, compute, and print information
- Ability to obtain information from other agencies/organizations, answer case-status inquiries, and schedule appointments
- Ability to provide word processing, data entry/retrieval, and case/project file support
- Ability to review and analyze data and information from multiple sources, including databases
- Ability to prepare and format management reports and correspondence using word processing software

- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to pass a Public Trust background investigation
