The Opportunity
We need a motivated Leading Hand Chip Spreader to join the Fulton Hogan Sealing Team in Dunedin.
Reporting to the Foreman, you will primarily be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of various items of construction equipment and heavy plant. You will be working on projects for internal and external customers in the Otago Region while complying with all relevant code of practice and quality requirements. This is a great opportunity to lead small sealing crew across the Otago Region.
The right candidate will be able to:
Understand and champion our Living Safely approach.
Operate plant, machinery, and other road sealing equipment, including general maintenance to best practice.
Take personal responsibility for the safety of your workmates, the environment, public and yourself.
Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with the relevant job and work instruction.
Plan and ensure gears, tools, machinery and crew are ready.
Plan repairs and servicing when required.
Ensure regular, clear communication with the crew and foreman.
What you’ll bring to the table
Full class 1 and 2 licences, higher classes and WTR endorsements preferred but not essential.
Chipseal experience.
Be able to work both independently and as part a team.
Have an unwavering commitment towards living safely with a safety record to match.
Excellent communication skills.
Be reliable with a strong work ethic.
