Team:

The HNAV UX Team within Automotive Solutions defines the end-to-end user experience for HERE's automotive navigation and location intelligence products. Our multidisciplinary team collaborates closely with product management, engineering, research, designers, marketing, and implementation to deliver intuitive, high-performance automotive experiences. We transform complex customer needs into elegant, contextual user interfaces. The HNAV UX Team is looking for a Lead UX Designer – Automotive Solutions to help shape the future of in-vehicle navigation. This role will lead user experience designs, and design systems, and improve design quality, and execution for key products in the HERE Navigation suite. You’ll work cross-functionally to deliver seamless, scalable, and user-centered experiences across a variety of automotive platforms.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead and maintain an end-to-end design system and supporting documentation for HERE Navigation’s B2B automotive software, ensuring scalability across devices and screens.
  • Collaborates with product management, engineering, research, design, customers, cartography, design system teams, product marketing, and implementation teams to improve existing patterns, and components and identify foundational areas for UX optimization, ensure integrated final automotive products meet specifications, and prepare all relevant design documentation, assets and materials.
  • Translate complex customer needs into elegant, usable interfaces tailored for the automotive context, lead the design of critical features within our navigation product suite — from ideation and research through to delivery.
  • The team balances user experience, performs research, facilitates workshops, creates UX/UI designs, and prototypes, conducts usability testing, defines interaction rules, and implements UX interface elements including sound, motion, and copy.
  • Work closely with the centralized design system team to evolve shared tooling and processes.
  • Champion efficient design workflows, Figma best practices, and system architecture across UX teams.
  • Own the ongoing maintenance and refinement of Figma libraries, templates, components, and specifications.
  • Empower teams with resources, documentation, and mentorship around design standards and system usage.
  • Drive user-centered decisions through research, data, usability testing, and stakeholder input.

NOTE: This is an individual contributor role.

Who are you?
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in design, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience designing user experiences for complex digital products;
  • Proficient in tools like Figma Jira, and Confluence.
  • Technical mindset with a strong appreciation for data, research, and inclusive design practices.
  • Strong background in visual design, design systems, UX, interaction design, research, and documentation for scalable enterprise platforms. 
  • You’re naturally curious to dig deep into user behaviors, market trends, and product strategy to inform meaningful design decisions.
  • You take ownership of your work, manage your time and priorities effectively, and communicate progress clearly with stakeholders.
  • You stay current with UX best practices and emerging tools and are eager to experiment and evolve your approach.
  • Excellent storytelling and communication skills; able to align design decisions with business and user needs.
  • You’re comfortable in agile, fast-paced product environments.
  • Experience working in international, distributed teams and navigating complex B2B and B2C environments.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.

Would be a plus:

  • Motion design, accessibility knowledge, and experience working with embedded systems.
