As a Principal Technical Program Manager, you will work directly with Product and Engineering Leaders to deliver Xero's most complex, cross-divisional initiatives, which are central to our 3-year vision. Your primary focus will be to construct comprehensive, cross-Divisional plans, proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks that could disrupt delivery. You will have high impact by ensuring Product & Technology- specifically our Tax and Payroll teams have clear plans, understand their responsibilities, and are minimally blocked by dependencies or unexpected issues, ultimately helping to bring exceptional customer experiences to market.
The team & how they connectThe Delivery Team exists to enable our Product & Technology teams to successfully bring outstanding customer experiences to market. You will play a leadership role in Delivery, partnering with your Lead, Coaches, and Product Practice Managers to achieve strategic outcomes that enhance our global product engineering operations.
The team is currently working onFacilitating the delivery of Key Product Engineering Initiatives that require coordination between more than one Division or Portfolio.
Partnering with engineering, product management, and design leaders to deeply understand technical design and architecture.
Proactively uncovering and mitigating technical risks resulting from unclear dependencies, complexity, scale, or security concerns.
Organising and leading sessions to quickly escalate and remove issues by connecting the right people.
This role is hybrid and based out of our London office. We embrace a hybrid working model that blends the flexibility of remote work with the collaboration and connection of our office space. We have 'boost days' where you can work in the office to connect, collaborate, and innovate with your team and colleagues
Here are some of the things we're looking forExtensive experience as a Technical Program Manager or in a similar role managing complex technical programs
Deep knowledge and experience driving software delivery programs, in a highly matrixed, global environment
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive clarity in ambiguity
Proven ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams without direct authority
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment
