OVERVIEW

The Lead Technical Architect in the Capabilities team will be responsible for for Planview platform enablement through defining technical architecture, configuring advanced system modules, designing robust database solutions, and engineering secure API integrations with external platforms like ADO, ServiceNow, and data lakes. Will drive platform roadmaps and ensure the Planview ecosystem scales seamlessly to support enterprise portfolio management, resource capacity planning, and financial tracking.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Technical Leadership & Governance:

  • Platform Roadmap: Own the platform roadmap for Planview Products & Shared capabilities in partnership with Solution Architect.

  • Technical Governance: Establish best practices for environment management (Sandbox, Production). Manage deployment of changes from Sandbox to Production. Manage multiple Sandbox environment for Planview Portfolios, Manage Sandbox refresh and post refresh steps for Planview Portfolios

  • Mentorship: Act as the subject matter expert (SME), guiding and mentoring a team of administrators and system engineers.

Advanced Configuration & Platform Administration (Planview Admin):

  • Core Configuration: Configure complex portfolio structures, investment strategies, and fiscal time periods.

  • Lifecycle & Workflow Automation: Design and build multi-stage automated routing configurations and approval workflows to streamline demand intake and governance.

  • Manage Planview Product and Shared Capabilities access via Planview Admin

  • System Health & Security: Manage user access profiles, object permissions, and Single Sign-On (SSO)/Active Directory integrations.

Integration Engineering & Development:

  • API Development: Design, build, and maintain custom integration pipelines utilizing Planview Portfolios’ Public REST APIs and OData feeds using OAuth2.

  • Partner with Solution Architects, business product owners, and cross-functional engineering teams to shape platform strategy.

  • Ecosystem Orchestration: Configure and extend Planview Hub (Tasktop) to drive flawless, bidirectional data synchronization between Planview Portfolios and peripheral tools (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow, Azure DevOps).

  • ETL & Data Scripting: Write efficient scripts in Python, Java, or Shell to automate data transfers, system maintenance jobs, and backend configurations.

Database Management & Advanced Analytics:

  • Database Optimization: Write, debug, and optimize complex SQL queries, views, and stored procedures on enterprise databases.

  • Data Schema Design: Leverage knowledge of Planview’s underlying relational database schema to troubleshoot data discrepancies and build high-performance reporting views.

  • Business Intelligence: Collaborate with BI teams to design data models and write custom DAX/SQL queries for Microsoft Power BI or tableau executive dashboards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • 8+ years of experience in enterprise applications, platform architecture, systems integration, or technical administration.

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Planview Portfolios or a comparable enterprise portfolio management platform.

  • Knowledge of Planview Ecosystem

  • Proven experience defining technical architecture, platform scalability, and environment strategy across enterprise systems.

  • Strong experience designing secure integrations using REST APIs, OData feeds, OAuth2, and connecting platforms such as Azure DevOps, ServiceNow.

  • Strong scripting and database skills, including Python, Java along with advanced SQL for queries, views, and stored procedures.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical delivery, manage platform security and SSO, solve complex issues, and mentor administrators or engineers

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Planview Portfolios administration, implementation, or technical certification.

  • Experience with Planview Hub and bidirectional integration design across enterprise tools

  • Knowledge of Planview’s relational data model and experience troubleshooting data issues or building reporting views.

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment frameworks for enterprise SaaS or hybrid platforms.

  • Experience building analytics and reporting solutions in Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI platforms.

  • Proven success delivering platform upgrades, enhancements, and implementations in large, highly governed enterprise environments.

Applicants must meet minimum age qualifications in the country in which the job is located.
