Position Title: Lead/ Sr. Analyst – Business Research/ Market Intelligence

Location: Hyderabad/ Chennai

Job Description

Roche has established Global Analytics and Technology Center of Excellence (GATE) at Chennai/ Hyderabad to drive analytics & technology driven solutions by partnering with Roche affiliates across the globe.   

As a Lead Analyst, you will act as a dedicated SME to Roche’s global business partners. You will transcend traditional data collection by integrating Clinical and Commercial Competitive Intelligence (CI), Market intelligence with advanced GenAI-driven analytics. Your goal is to provide high-level strategic

foresight using established business frameworks to influence Roche’s global product pipeline and commercial launch strategies.

The Opportunity

  • Integrated Strategic Competitive/ Market Intelligence: Lead the end-to-end monitoring of the competitive landscape, bifurcating insights into Clinical CI (R&D pipeline, trial design shifts, MoA breakthroughs) and Commercial CI (pricing, market access, field force shifts, and launch trajectories).

  • Strategic Framework Application: Synthesize complex market signals into actionable strategies using structured frameworks such as SWOT, PESTLE, Porter’s Five Forces, and Patient Journey Mapping to identify unmet needs and white-space opportunities.

  • GenAI & Innovation: Architect and implement GenAI-powered workflows (e.g., LLMs for rapid secondary research synthesis, automated earnings call sentiment analysis, or GPT-based clinical trial summarization) to increase the velocity and depth of strategic recommendations.

  • High-Stakes Conference Coverage (ASCO, ESMO, AACR, JP Morgan, Jefferies, etc.): Provide pre-conference/ post-conference impact assessment analysis of competitor data readouts on Roche’s portfolio

  • Strategic Advisory: Transform market insights from public & proprietary data sources (e.g. CT.gov, Clarivate, AlphaSense, EvaluatePharma) into "Executive Stories" that provide clear "So What?" and "Now What?" recommendations to partners & senior leadership.

  • Predictive Intelligence: Flag "Trigger Events" (e.g., Breakthrough Designations, FDA/ regulatory signals, M&A activity) and perform Scenario Planning to assess potential implications for Roche brands.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: 5–8 years of experience in Strategic Business Research/ Market Research/ CI within Pharma/Life Sciences.

  • Methodology: Expert-level proficiency in applying Business Research Frameworks (SWOT, PESTLE) to the pharmaceutical lifecycle—from Phase I to Loss of Exclusivity (LoE).

  • Tech-Savviness: Proven experience or a strong vision for using GenAI tools to automate data extraction and enhance strategic consulting.

  • Commercial Acumen: Deep understanding of the Drug Development Process, including clinical trial endpoints, regulatory pathways (FDA/EMA), and commercial launch excellence.

  • Communication: Ability to influence global stakeholders through structured communication and data visualization.

  • Self-Driven Ownership: A proactive "self-starter" who manages complex projects with minimal guidance in a fast-paced global environment.

  • Innovative Problem-Solver: Possesses an agile, GenAI-forward mindset to reinvent research workflows and tackle intricate life science challenges.

  • Strategic Influencer: Passionate about the "why" behind the data, using structured narratives to move stakeholders from insights to action.

Education

  • UG: B. Tech/B.E./B. Pharm

  • PG (Preferred): MBA or Masters in Life Sciences/Biotechnology
