Victor is seeking candidates for the following position based in either the New York City or the Bethesda Maryland office

Product Owner- Data

This position functions as the US Product Owner-Data, and is a recognized subject matter expert in Information Technology who manages large projects or processes. Manages the priorities roadmap for IT products and the day-to-day operations of the team and 3rd party vendors. Ensures that data solutions provide needed functionality to consultants, sales professionals and leaders across the firm

  • Based in the Bethesda, MD, area and as a hybrid worker, you will be a part of the IT leadership team, supporting a number of product and delivery teams
  • You will define the journey to fundamentally elevate the integrity of our data, and coordinate execution across strategic and tactical technology initiatives. As such, you will be interacting with key members of the business, operations and IT leadership teams to translate enterprise-wide portfolio objectives to drive data innovation and realize business value
  • You will be responsible for coordinating quarterly objective settings (program increment planning), implementing a nimble progress monitoring process to track performance and measure business value, and owning data roadmaps
  • You will come up with a new way of providing status updates around data, driving the organization to more of a data centric culture and ensuring that IT is working on the right things instead of going fast in the wrong direction
  • You will partner with key stakeholders across the company, which requires you to be an outstanding communicator in both oral and written forms, conveying technical complex information and concepts in easily understood terms to business and operations partners

We will count on you to:

  • Develop and operationalize the portfolio's data strategy, recommending and delivering short-and long-term IT portfolio goals to elevate product quality
  • Provide expert and strategic advice to members of the Operations & IT leadership team on all data matters affecting the IT portfolio
  • Conduct quantitative research as required, determining and communicating connections/relationships between data, identifying and answering questions about data and products. Position requires hands-on technical expertise coupled with ingenuity, product knowledge, industry knowledge, and communication skills
  • Build a Center of Excellence around Data, and create a team that can drive transformational change and innovation while balancing and meeting business objectives in regards to the data business case
  • Develop and enhance programs and data structures that successfully meet business objectives. Participate in the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including planning, construction, testing, reviews, and demonstrations leveraging data integration tools and architectural techniques such as enterprise data warehouse, data federation, data lakes and independent data marts
  • Drive the collection of new data and refinement of existing data sources to deliver Business Intelligence (BI) content via portals, including design and development of analytical data models to support static and ad hoc industry reports, dashboards, data mining, trending, creation of key performance indicators, and foundation for predictive modeling
  • Manage all phases of project delivery by defining project structure, phasing, resource plans, and activity schedules. Approve estimation of schedule, cost, and effort based on continuous stakeholder validations. Review forecasts and quality reports to identify variances and takes corrective action when necessary
  • Serve as the escalation point for significant data problems and identify and implement solutions at the earliest opportunity, and be a servant leader to assist in removing roadblocks
  • Creates tools to support additional business efficiencies in data quality, production and resources. Reduces total cost of ownership of our business applications

What you need to have:

  • Substantial experience managing extensive data and innovation programs
  • Prior Insurance experience would be essential to success
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI and SQL reporting is required. 
  • Keen problem solving and prioritization skills, able to rapidly ingest, absorb, synthesize and act on new information
  • Comfort manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources
  • Individual contributor who works independently with minimal supervision, with ability to lead and develop project-based matrix teams to meet or exceed the company's expectations for data productivity, quality, and achievement
  • Agile delivery experience for large platforms including data visualization tools
  • Insurance/Finance experience preferred but not essential

The applicable base salary range for this role is $105,800 to $211,600.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
