Cloud & DevOps Engineer, Assurant – India
The Cloud & DevOps Engineer reports to the Cloud Planning and Engineering leadership within Infrastructure & Cloud Services (ICS). The role is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining public cloud automation, orchestration, and integration capabilities that support Assurant's Enterprise Cloud platform. The position requires strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), cloud engineering, automation, DevOps practices, and public cloud services. The engineer will work closely with Cloud Engineering, DevSecOps, Security, Enterprise Architecture, and Operations teams to deliver scalable, secure, and highly available cloud solutions.
This position will be based in Bangalore India
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
- Design and build public cloud automation and orchestration pattern.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions and cloud engineering standards.
- Own cloud automation, reporting, and monitoring across network, compute, storage, database, and application components.
- Partner with DevSecOps teams to automate cloud infrastructure lifecycle management.
- Work with Information Security teams to ensure cloud automation aligns with security policies.
- Design automation patterns for IaaS and PaaS services and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Ensure cloud solutions meet availability, resilience, monitoring, and SLA requirements.
- Research new cloud automation capabilities and support enterprise cloud strategy and integration initiatives.
What are the requirements needed for this position?
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, automation, or platform engineering.
- Experience designing and implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions in public cloud environments.
- Experience working with cloud automation, orchestration, monitoring, and integration solutions.
- Experience supporting highly available enterprise-scale cloud platforms and services.
- Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments with distributed global teams.
Technology Requirements
- Strong knowledge of public cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Azure.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
- Knowledge of cloud orchestration, automation, and CI/CD practices.
- Experience with scripting and programming languages such as Python, Go, or similar.
- Understanding of Kubernetes, container platforms, monitoring, and observability solutions.
- Familiarity with cloud-native security, compliance, resilience, and disaster recovery concepts.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with a focus on automation and operational excellence.
