Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer
In this role, you will:
- Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact
- Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines
- Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs
- Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors
- Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
- Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals
- Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor
- 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Lead the design and implementation of enterprise Identity Governance & Administration (IGA) solutions using the Saviynt SaaS platform.• Develop and support scalable API-based and microservices-driven integrations between Saviynt and enterprise applications.• Build robust identity lifecycle management solutions covering Joiner, Mover, and Leaver (JML) processes.• Collaborate with IAM, Security, HR, Infrastructure, and Application teams to integrate identity and access data across the enterprise ecosystem.• Design and implement automated access provisioning, deprovisioning, certification, and governance workflows.• Develop reusable components, connectors, and integration frameworks using Java (mandatory).• Configure and customize Saviynt modules including Access Requests, Role Management, SoD, Certifications, and Identity Lifecycle Management.• Integrate Saviynt with enterprise systems such as Active Directory, Entra ID, Workday, ServiceNow, CyberArk, SAP, and custom applications.• Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms using OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, SCIM, and REST APIs.• Ensure identity data quality, governance, compliance, and audit readiness across the access lifecycle.• Support performance tuning, scalability, and optimization of Saviynt and integration workloads.• Contribute to architecture decisions and best practices for IAM and Identity Governance modernization initiatives.• Provide technical leadership, code reviews, and mentorship to junior engineers and IAM developers.
- 8-10 years of experience in Identity & Access Management (IAM), application integration, or backend development.
- Strong hands-on experience with Saviynt IGA platform, including:
- Identity Lifecycle Management
- Access Request Management
- Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
- Access Certifications
- Segregation of Duties (SoD)
- Enterprise Access Governance
- Application Onboarding
- Strong expertise in Java development (mandatory).
- Experience designing and developing REST APIs and microservices-based integration solutions.
- Strong knowledge of authentication, authorization, and identity federation standards:
- Solid understanding of Identity Governance & Administration (IGA) and modern IAM architecture paradigms.
- Strong programming and integration skills in Java and Spring Boot.
- Experience building scalable provisioning, reconciliation, and access governance workflows.
- Knowledge of event-driven architectures, messaging frameworks, and enterprise integration patterns.
- Experience working with cloud platforms (Azure or GCP) and SaaS application integrations.

Skills Required
- 5+ years of Software Engineering experience
- Designing and implementing enterprise IAM/IGA solutions (SailPoint, Saviynt, OIM, Azure AD, etc.)
- Deep understanding of identity lifecycle management, access certifications, role modeling, and policy enforcement
- Experience with authentication and authorization protocols (OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, SCIM)
- Integrating IAM systems with directories (AD/LDAP), cloud platforms, SaaS applications, and enterprise systems
- Architect and develop enterprise-grade Java applications focusing on scalability, resiliency, and performance
- Design microservices-based architectures and APIs (REST/SOAP) for IAM integration
- Build custom extensions, workflows, rules, and connectors for IAM platforms (including SailPoint IIQ)
- Expertise in system integration patterns, event-driven architecture, and messaging systems (Kafka, MQ, etc.)
- Experience with Spring Boot, Java, Node.js or .NET microservices frameworks
- Experience with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, gRPC-based service communication
- Deep experience with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP), GCP preferred
- Experience designing service-to-service authentication/authorization and API gateway patterns (Apigee, Kong, Azure APIM)
- Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, Pulsar, RabbitMQ)
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and service mesh (Istio, Linkerd)
- Drive DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automation, and release governance
- Advanced code quality practices, SAST/DAST, threat modeling, and testing (unit/integration/regression)
- Design and implement Agent Identity Frameworks and AI guardrails (SPIFFE, policy-based access control, auditability)
- Technical leadership, mentorship, and collaboration with architects, security, product, and operations
