Position Summary:

The Lead Quality Engineer is responsible for maintaining the production processes and ensuring that the software is as per business requirements and standards. The role designs quality tests, develops the documentation, and test procedures, keeps track of quality standards, and specifies the requirements that a test result must satisfy. They lead testing efforts, develop test strategies, design, and execute test cases to validate software applications and systems, mentor and provide guidance to quality assurance team members.

What will your job entail?

Job Responsibilities:• Designs and implements robust testing strategy for software applications within the insurance firm, encompassing test planning, execution, and defect management.• Spearheads the development and maintenance of automated testing frameworks and tools to enhance testing efficiency and accuracy.• Leads the planning and execution of test activities, including creating test plans, test cases, and test scripts coordinating with development teams to ensure adequate test coverage and timely resolution of defects.• Conducts performance testing to evaluate the scalability, reliability, and responsiveness of insurance software systems under various load conditions.• Ensures that software products comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards relevant to the insurance industry.• Identifies opportunities for process optimization within the testing and development lifecycle to improve quality and efficiency.• Establishes key quality metrics and reporting mechanisms to monitor testing progress, defect trends, and overall product quality.• Enforces quality engineering standards and best practices to ensure high-quality deliverables across development cycles.• Performs code reviews and analysis to identify potential defects, architectural flaws, and areas of optimization from a quality engineering perspective.• Provides leadership and guidance to a team of quality engineers, mentoring team members on testing best practices, technical skills, and professional development.• Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, business analysts, and quality assurance teams, to ensure alignment on quality goals and objectives.Work Experience and Education:• Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred; Software Engineering, Computer Science degree is preferred. Any other related discipline or commensurate work experience considered.• Minimum of 8 years of experience in Software Quality Engineering.Licenses & Certifications:• American Society For Quality (ASQ) Certified, Certified Information System Auditor (CISA), or International Software Testing Qualification Board (ISTQB) is preferred.
