The LEAD Graduate Program is a two-year journey for curious, ambitious people who are just starting out and want more than a title. You’ll move through different teams, work on real projects, learn from global experts, and connect with the leaders shaping our industry — until you land in a permanent role that fits where you shine best.

 How the program works

LEAD is built around rotations — you’ll experience different teams and challenges before growing into a permanent role. Based on your background, your interests, and where the business needs you, you’ll build your journey inside one of our main areas of work:

Information Technology (IT) — NEW

For people who love technology and want it to move our business from the inside.

Throughout the program, you will take on diverse assignments across Enterprise IT that align with business priorities and your career goals. You'll work on projects that enable business growth and operational excellence while gaining exposure to multiple areas of technology and their impact across functions such as Operations, Services, Digital Electronics, Engineering, and Finance.

You'll have the opportunity to build experience in areas such as:

• Project & Product Management
• Data Analytics & Business Intelligence
• IT Operations & Cloud Engineering
• Cybersecurity & Network Technologies
• Software Development & Software Engineering
• Technical Program & Project Management
• Emerging Technologies, including Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning

 Freight Services — NEW

For people who like solving real operational challenges and working close to customers.

Throughout the program, you will work closely with customers and cross-functional teams to develop solutions that improve fleet reliability, increase asset availability, reduce lifecycle costs, and maximize operational performance.

You'll have the opportunity to focus on some of the most exciting challenges in the rail industry, including

• Fleet maintenance & locomotive modernization
• Reliability engineering & diagnostics
• Field services & technical support
• Asset lifecycle management & customer solutions
• Continuous improvement & operational excellence

Your impact: improve reliability, keep assets available, and help customers get the most out of every machine.

 Engineering

For future engineers who want to design the technology that powers transportation.

Throughout the program, you will contribute to engineering solutions that improve safety, reliability, efficiency, and sustainability while helping shape the future of rail transportation.

You'll have the opportunity to focus on some of the most exciting trends in the field, including

• Locomotive systems, propulsion & braking technologies
• Controls & automation
• Alternative fuels & sustainability
• Product development, validation & testing
• Reliability & next-generation transportation technology

Your impact: create solutions that make transportation safer, more efficient, and more sustainable.

 Digital Intelligence

For people excited by data, software, AI, and intelligent systems.

Throughout the program, you will contribute to projects that transform data into actionable insights, helping customers optimize operations, increase asset utilization, improve network performance, and drive innovation across the transportation industry.

You'll have the opportunity to focus on some of the most exciting trends in the field, including:

• Software development & cloud technologies
• AI & Machine Learning
• Data Science, Analytics & industrial analytics
• Automation, signaling & predictive maintenance
• Digital products & intelligent transportation systems

 What we’re looking for

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in any Engineering field (preferred: Electrical, Control & Automation, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Materials, Mechanical, and related fields)
• Graduation between January 2025 and December 2027
• Consistent academic performance — ideally an average of 70% or above
• Advanced or fluent English
• Availability to travel and, depending on the area, to work in the field
• Some prior experience — internships, research, extension programs, student groups, or similar activities

Nice to have (for technology areas): Python, C++, Java, MATLAB, Simulink, Visual Basic .NET, or other programming languages and engineering tools.
