The Lead Product Safety Engineer is responsible for evaluating design safety and ensuring potential personnel and environmental hazards are mitigated. This involvement is throughout the entire product life cycle, including conducting reviews as part of the design process and tracking resolution of field issues.
Essential Responsibilities
- Facilitate and support product safety risk assessments for new and existing (installed base equipment) units.
- Facilitate the Product Safety Process cross-functionally.
- Drive resolution of safety critical items.
- Quantify risk by performing quantitative risk modeling on complex systems to assess design safety risk
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s of Engineering degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Environmental, or similar field from an accredited college or university
- Experience in a design, systems, field operations, or product safety role.
- Excellent team and communication skills.
- Ability to perform well, under pressure, as a problem solver.
