As Lead Product Manager, New Frontiers, you will lead and advance the Labs' early-stage portfolio of emerging technology opportunities. You will partner with engineers, designers, researchers, and business stakeholders across areas such as Physical AI and robotics, world models, quantum computing, alternative manufacturing and construction, autonomous vehicles, and other emerging domains.
Key Responsibilities
  • Define the long-term vision, strategy, and investment thesis for the New Frontiers portfolio, connecting disruptive technology shifts to meaningful customer, associate, and enterprise opportunities.
  • Own discovery and product development for defined New Frontiers initiatives, connecting emerging technology shifts to meaningful customer, associate, and enterprise opportunities.
  • Identify customer and business problems worth solving for DIY and Pro customers through customer research, associate feedback, market signals, and operational insight.
  • Translate complex technical capabilities into clear product visions, use cases, experience principles, requirements, roadmaps, and decision-ready narratives.
  • Lead structured discovery, applied R&D, and experimentation in ambiguous problem spaces; design credible tests that reduce strategic uncertainty.
  • Define hypotheses, learning agendas, success criteria, and phase-appropriate outcomes for explorations, proofs of concept, pilots, and incubations.
  • Partner closely with engineering and design to make informed tradeoffs among customer value, technical feasibility, operational viability, speed, and risk.
  • Develop and maintain initiative-level roadmaps, OKRs, metrics, and documentation that communicate near-term learning and potential long-term value.
  • Synthesize experiment results and make recommendations to iterate, invest, partner, scale, pause, or sunset opportunities.
  • Build productive relationships with partners across Technology, Stores, Supply Chain, Merchandising, Digital Commerce, and other functions to accelerate learning and create paths to adoption.
  • Support engagement with external partners, including startups, researchers, universities, venture firms, and technology companies.
  • Navigate security, legal, architecture, governance, and operational constraints while maintaining momentum and rigor.
  • Create clear executive-ready narratives, demos, and artifacts that explain what Lowe's is learning, why it matters, and what decisions are needed.
  • Contribute to strong product-management practices across Labs and provide informal mentorship to product peers.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, business, design, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 7+ years of experience across two of the following: product management, product marketing, applied engineering, software or hardware development, R&D, entrepreneurship, or business analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience defining product direction, roadmaps, hypotheses, and prioritization tradeoffs in ambiguous environments.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with engineering and design teams.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into clear, customer-focused product strategies, requirements, and stakeholder communications.
  • Experience creating or evaluating prototypes, proofs of concept, pilots, or experiments.
  • Strong customer research, market analysis, and quantitative and qualitative decision-making skills.

  • Experience in a corporate innovation lab, startup, research organization, venture-backed company, or similarly high-ambiguity environment.
  • Technical depth sufficient to engage credibly with engineers on architecture, technical constraints, system behavior, experimentation design, and scale-readiness tradeoffs.
  • Experience working directly with customers, field teams, stores, job sites, or operational environments to validate real-world needs and constraints.
  • Experience managing external technology partners, vendors, research collaborators, or strategic alliances.
