We’re looking for a Senior/Lead Java Developer with C background to help us build and scale a cloud PBX solution based on Asterisk.
The team is building a cloud PBX solution based on Asterisk. We expect you to have strong problem-solving skills, be self-motivated, initiative, and responsible.
Your daily duties will include implementing different SIP proxy features using Java/C and Asterisk with respect to high availability and scalability.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and actively participate in product planning and sprint backlog meetings.
- Take responsibility for the full software development lifecycle, from understanding business requirements through coding, deployment, and maintenance.
- Develop and maintain technical design, architecture, and troubleshooting documentation.
- Demonstrate a technology-agnostic mindset and continuously explore new technologies and approaches.
- Analyze and interpret stack traces, crashes, memory issues, and performance bottlenecks.
- Implement patches, backports, or enhancements directly in Asterisk source code.
- Develop custom modules (C), when needed.
- Work with Linux systems (systemd, networking, tuning, kernel parameters).
- Work with cloud environments (GCP preferred).
- Participate in architecture decisions.
- Design and implement Asterisk dialplans.
Requirements:
- Have at least 7+ years of production experience with large-scale deployments.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java.
- Hands-on experience with C.
- Have experience with CI/CD, clouds, Linux & networking.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD, and Maven.
- Proficiency with relational databases, particularly MySQL, including schema design, migrations, and query optimization.
- Have a good level of English (B2 or higher).
- You are ready to act as the technical lead.
- Can work cross-team with backend developers, infra/DevOps, QA, and product owners.
- Own best practices, code quality, and documentation.
