About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Institutional Investment Operations Specialist
In this role, you will:
  • Lead complex initiatives in operational and customer service for lifecycle support for institutional trade flow functions including client account onboarding, cash payments, customer service, funding or custodial operations, securities settlement services, structure loan operations, reconciliation as well as support resolution of issues in and out of their responsibility
  • Act as key participant in large scale planning, gathering data to support resolution of issues in areas in and out of responsibility
  • Review and research complex multi-faceted operational and customer support on loan, securities and derivative product issues for institutional trade flow and provide oversight and add efficiencies to processes that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors including intangibles or unprecedented factors
  • Demonstrate full knowledge and serve as leadership on projects along with internal and industry related industries
  • Make decisions in complex and multi-faceted loan, securities and derivative products requiring understanding of the function, policies, procedures and compliance requirements
  • Influence and lead broader work team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Lead projects and teams, or serve as a peer mentor
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Institutional Investment Operations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • Lead and develop a team of managers and individual contributors supporting Derivative Confirmations and Settlements.
  • Provide end-to-end oversight of OTC Derivative confirmation, documentation, and settlement activities, ensuring timely execution and regulatory compliance.
  • Drive operational excellence through process simplification, automation, control enhancements, and risk mitigation initiatives.
  • Establish strong governance and supervisory oversight frameworks to ensure adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Partner with Front Office, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Technology, and Operations stakeholders to resolve complex issues, enhance client experience, and implement strategic initiatives.
  • Lead the identification, escalation, and resolution of operational risks, trade exceptions, client disputes, and process breakdowns.
  • Ensure accurate trade capture, confirmation, settlement, and maintenance of legal documentation, including ISDA-related agreements and trading documentation.
  • Oversee reconciliation and control activities to minimize operational losses and ensure transaction integrity.
  • Champion continuous improvement efforts by driving system enhancements, workflow optimization, and STP initiatives in partnership with Technology and Change teams.
  • Develop and execute talent strategies, including succession planning, coaching, mentoring, hiring, and leadership development.
  • Manage resource allocation, capacity planning, and financial considerations to meet business objectives.
  • Represent India Derivative Operations in global governance forums, regulatory discussions, industry working groups, and strategic transformation programs.
  • Foster a strong risk and control culture while ensuring all high-risk matters are identified, escalated, and resolved appropriately.
  • 5+ years of experience in Derivatives Operations with extensive knowledge of OTC Derivative products and trade lifecycle processes.
Job Expectations:
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience managing managers and large operations teams.
  • Strong expertise in Derivative Confirmations, Settlements, Documentation, and Operational Risk Management.
  • Deep understanding of ISDA documentation, industry standards, and regulatory requirements impacting derivatives operations.
  • Demonstrated experience leading operational transformation, process improvement, and technology-driven initiatives.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and collaborate across Front Office, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Technology, and Operations functions.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • FINRA Series 99 certification or ability to obtain certification as required.
