Job Title: Lead-Human Resources
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced Lead – HR, based in Kolkata to take on a strategic, people-centric role. The incumbent will serve as the HR bridge between our USA Headquarters and the India team, lead Talent Management and Engagement for India, and own the responsibility of building and sustaining a positive, high-performing team culture. Recruitment support will be an additional area of contribution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Talent Management
- Manage performance cycles (goal-setting, mid-year and annual reviews), succession planning, and career development frameworks.
- Develop IDPs and coordinate with L&D for targeted upskilling and internal mobility opportunities.
- Maintain talent dashboards and provide data-driven insights on workforce health and development needs.
Talent Engagement
- Plan and execute a year-round engagement calendar — CSR Activities, town halls, team events, milestone recognitions, and well-being initiatives.
- Conduct regular group and one-on-one employee meetings to understand individual and team challenges and facilitate timely, effective resolutions
- Analyse engagement data and build action plans in collaboration with managers.
- Track attrition trends and implement proactive retention strategies.
USA–India HR Bridge
- Liaise between USA HQ HR leadership and India employees to ensure seamless communication, policy rollout, and cultural alignment.
- Represent India's people concerns and feedback to global leadership, and contextualise global directives for the local team.
- Coordinate cross-border HR initiatives including workforce planning, policy harmonisation, and global people programmes.
Culture Building
- Own and drive the cultural identity of Team India — embedding values, fostering positivity, and maintaining a healthy team environment.
- Design and run culture-building activities, recognition programmes, and structured listening mechanisms (pulse surveys, open-door sessions).
- Work closely with leadership to ensure people practices are consistent, inclusive, and culturally sensitive.
Recruitment (Secondary)
- Support end-to-end hiring for mid to senior roles — sourcing, screening, interviews, and offer management.
- Manage vendor relationships and track key hiring metrics (time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, source effectiveness).
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in any stream.
- MBA / PGDM in Human Resources from a recognized institution.
Experience
- 8-10 years in HR with strong ownership of talent management, engagement, and cross-cultural operations.
- Prior experience in the IT/Technology/Media sector is a plus.
- Exposure to global or multi-geography HR environments is also a bonus.
Skills
- Strong cross-cultural communication skills; ability to work across time zones and organisational levels.
- Proficiency in HRMS/ATS platforms
- Excellent team management and problem-solving skills.
- Analytical mindset with comfort in HR data and reporting.
- Sound knowledge of Indian labour laws and compliance norms.
- Excellent communication in English both verbal and written with high emotional intelligence and diplomacy
